Happy 2 years to me!

To celebrate my two year anniversay of coming to live with sally and johnny this afternoon we went on a special trip to the pool - a real pool, not like my little blue pool in the yard. This is a people pool that for today was just for us dogs! It was fun to run around with all the other dogs from the neighborhood and splash in the 'big' pool. Lots and lots of fun. I hope I get a big bone tonight - except someone (not me) is watching my weight, so maybe not. Still having a fabulous life here and have got these two completely trained:) Hooray for me!

La-La-La-La-Lola

The other day Johnny and I were out walking in the park and this little white dog wandered up without any walking companion. And then she followed us all the way home! Her name was Lola and she was from New Mexico. A couple hours later we found her mom, who was very happy to see her. They were visiting family in our neighborhood and the gate was accidentally left open so Lola decided to explore. We had lots of fun with Lola, but just between you and me, I was glad to see her reunited with her family because I AM #1 HERE! :)

Happy 1 year to me!

It's been a whole year since I came to live with Johnny & Sally.

I am so happy & spoiled. wow!

To celebrate my 1 year with them, Sally made me a big peanut butter cookie with my name on it. I also got a really really big bone, that I'm still working on, and a 'cool bed' water matress to help me cool down after warm walks.

I got a one-month pass to Paw-Run Recreation Park where I can run off leash AND go swimming in the pond! Sally says I bring home every bur in the park but I don't care if we spend a whole hour de-burring when we get home. It's TOTALLY WORTH IT. I LOVE TO SWIM! LOVE LOVE LOVE! It's so fun. I'll even fetch the creepy hedgehog toy but only if I'm swimming.

Our pass has expired so I'm hoping if I'm really really good we'll get another one.

I hope year 2 is just as great as year 1.

ps - I've recently been invited onto the sofa as long as my purple blanket is under me - I now own every piece of furniture in the house, and it only took 1 year:)

Let's Go!

It's been almost a week since I found out I can't fly. I had a small fracture in my foot. I've been on painkillers that make me a little woozy and sleepy.

But I'm feeling better now and I NEED TO WALK! I'm going stir crazy and there's all those dogs out there claiming MY neighborhood as their oooowwwn:(

I promise to keep at least one paw firmly on the ground at all times... Someone pleeeasse come bust me outta here and take me for a WALK!

a long way down

I am waiting for the vet to open. It seems like I'm always going to the vet. I like her a lot, but that's not why I go. The other day my Johnny and I were in one of my favorite parks and there's two bridges. One is wood and I can see over the top. The other is cement and I cannot see anything, which drives me crazy - who builds a bridge like that?? So, we were on the cement bridge and I decided I wanted to see what was on the other side so I leapt up onto the ledge but the ledge was skinnier than I thought. My Johnny says it was about a 15 foot drop. It felt like a hundred! I hurt my foot. I can't run or play or jump on furniture so I am miserable. So, I'm waiting for the vet to open - again. Cross your paws for me!

long weekend

This weekend we went to Ohio to see family. It was lots of fun. I caught a field mouse at grandma's house - she was very impressed of course. I had to stay by myself in the hotel for a little while but I was very good and Johnny & Sally were very proud of me. Then I got to go to a big party where I met Chance, a 9-month yellow labrador retriever. He's pretty cute, but he tried to eat my water dish! It was a very fun weekend but I am glad to be home in my own house with my own yard again!

I just want to say thanks to top dog and all the great folks at dogster for making me dog of the day - I had so many pup-pal requests today - wow. I even have a new friend in Brazil, which I think is really far away from Michigan. I feel so lucky!

My apologies - and dog of the day

I just want to apologize to any of the students at university who might have accidentally walked through a little something I left on the basketball court last night.

I'm sure some of you can relate - stumbling home from a frat party and getting that 'not so great' feeling in your belly? Mom says I am just like a college freshman now (is that a good thing?)!

I just wasn't feeling so good and it just happened and mom was a little freaked by it and we had to go home 'right away' to have our temperature taken and consult 'the book.' It's not like you can really bag that kind of thing anyway. I had a bellyache most of last night and didn't have a treat after my walk like usual - didn't even eat my dinner.

This morning I had a little rice and now I mostly just feel sad cos no one left me any treats before they left for work. I had a big surprise though - when I logged onto dogster.com like I do every morning, I am dog of the day today! Wow. It couldn't have happened at a better time because I was feeling pretty low. Thanks dogster (and top dog) for making me feel so special!

We have a new gate on the fence at our yard.

Saturday morning I was outside BY MYSELF because some people were TOO LAZY to come out and play with me. They walk me twice a day, come home from work at lunchtime, play with me half the night, hardly ever leave the house on weekends but that day they wouldn't come outside - it was too early or something.

You snooze you looze is what I say. They'll never know what happened. I'm never going to tell. Maybe it was that black & white squirrel walking by. Maybe I was just trien to bust outta there and go to the park. Maybe I had a hot date with Titus the bulldog (mom says he's too short for me).

There was a CRACK and a CRASH and the lazy people came outside to find the gate busted to smithereens! Yeah! That's right! I am the strongest little dog in the world - so beware all you black & white squirrels .. and all you regular non-peeing squirrels: Stay away from MY yard.

Well, it's been over a week since my run-in with that evil black & white squirrel. My new coat arrived in the mail yesterday - just in time for the snow storm last night - thanks SitStay.com for sending it right away!

Mom says I still stink, especially when I get wet from the snow. Not really what a girl wants to hear, ya know?! So, if there's anyone out there who has any suggestions on how I can shake this stink PLEASE let me know. Spring is coming and I plan on getting wet A LOT!

And a warning to that black & white squirrel: I know where you live and I will get you back somehow! ... oh, hi Mom... no I'm just... oops, where's that save button... gotta go!
