April 15th, 2009..... TAX DAY

I don't know why people make this such a big day. No big deal for me really.
Winter was long and ugly. I definitely get cabin fever. I was born to run and a house just does not cut it. I am so glad it is spring. I come in very muddy from playing. I have had lots of baths. Check out my spring picture in the mud. I really need "spring cleaning"! Life with my new Greater Swiss Mountain Dog brother is great. We play and play and play. He is really nice to me. He does not let me get away with my tricks however. Mom says this is good, I don't really agree.
I am really excited to start hiking and swimming again. Check out Eiger's page also!

Well, I am ONE today! Happy Birthday to me. It was a rather fun year. I went on hikes, swam in the pool, went to several doggie classes, went jogging with my human mom in the mornings, and got a new puppy brother who is 5 months old now. He is a great friend. I met lots of new friends on dogster. They really helped my mom to learn that I am smart and sensative, and they shared fun stories about their lives with Dogos. I even had a playdate with another Dogo that we met on Dogster. I am now a healthy 95 pounds on my birthday. Here's to another great year.

Well, I can't believe that Fall has come and gone! It has been a whirlwind season, alright!
I have had a herding lesson with sheep. That was interesting. Mom says that we will keep doing it for awhile. I'm not a natural to it, but I do sure love checking the sheep out and running them around. Maybe I'll stick with it. I also need to find an agility class. I have way too much energy.
The kids are back in school and I now go out jogging with my mom when it is not too cold. I need to get a dog vest for winter. As a Dogo, I get cold in the winter time. Mom can't believe that she is actually going to buy clothes for a dog, but you should see me shake on the cold days.
I have learned some fun new tricks like "touch" and "hide and seek". I am really into chewing now, so my mom is letting me try out all sorts of bones and things. I still prefer the furniture. It gets me into trouble from time to time.
I have heard that two kittens are coming home soon. This could be fun :) I will have to learn to be gentle with them as my paw is as big as they are.
Well, hope everyone out there is having a great Thanksgiving.

I'm 7 months old today! Yeah. I just hit 76 pounds. Mom is wondering how much food can you feed a Dogo? But I'm still skinny and packing on the pounds. I had a playdate with another dogo this week who I met on Dogster. Her name was Mia and she was great fun. We had a ball running around in the yard. We really are such well behaved dogs!
The kids go back to school next week so I am planning on getting alot of quality time with my mom. We can work on all of my new tricks that I learned this summer.
Thanks for checking out my diary,
Tango

Well, it has been a busy summer. I have gone to basic obedience, agility foundations, and learned to swim! It has been great. I also went on a hike which was so much fun. Being a puppy is great as far as I can see.

Well, I am definitely settled into my new home. I completed puppy kindergarten and got a certificate to take home. Mom was very proud! We are now trying to figure out what I should do next. We will definitely take a conformation class, but we also want to do an agility class and begin to look into Ultimate Air Dogs. There is so much fun things available.
My mom and dad finished fixing up the dog yard! It now has a patio area, grass area, and a new sunsetter awning for shade. I'm quite fair, you know, and tend to sunburn. Mom and dad may also get me a small kiddie pool to play in. However, I am looking forward to summer and swimming in the big pool in the back yard. I already took a dip in the pool when it was being opened for the season. I swam the whole length of the pool, 50 feet, at only 12 weeks old. Quite impressive. By the way, I just hit 40 LB's!!! Pretty impressive for 3 1/2 months.

Well, I am having a great week! I am learning sit, down, stay, come, and stack. I do great with "sit", and I am working hard on the other commands. I also did a very good job at puppy kindergarten yesterday. My first day was difficult. I was afraid of everyone and basically sat on my mom's foot the entire hour. However, I was much braver this week. I met some new dogs and worked really hard on my lessons.
My favorite thing is to climb on someone's lap for a nap. The weather is great and I get to play outside every day now. Yesterday I found a giant frog. My mom was not too thrilled when I brought it up to the house. It seemed like a great find to me!

Yesterday was a good day!
I got to play a lot with my older dogs. I really enjoy to play with them, but sometimes I drive them crazy. It is fun when we get to go outside. The weather is getting warmer so that is fantastic!
I am doing better with housetraining. I still have accidents, but I am getting better at waiting, and my family is getting better and recognizing when I need to go out!
I also got to drive in the car and pick up the boy that lives in the house. He had rugby practice at a local park. I was able to run around and meet some new people.
Then we all went into town to get some ice cream. My parents want me to get out and about and see all sorts of new things. It was a bit scary, so I decided it was a great time to take a nap in my dad's arms, but I had a fun time anyway.
Today I go to puppy kindergarten and I will meet lots of other puppies. I hope it is fun.............

Wow. I had a great day yesterday. Mom and Dad are very proud of me!
I had no accidents in the house. Also, I slept through the night because my big dog brother and sister now sleep with me too so I was very happy.
But my best part of the day was going on a walk with my family to the neighbor's farm. I got to do a "pack walk" and I felt like a big girl. Then, I met a Texas Longhorn. It was a little scary, actually, but my dad held me so it was not so bad.
With warm weather just around the corner, I am looking forward to lots of time out on the farm!

Tango has definitely arrived!
Housetraining is just starting and accidents are everywhere so we are working on crate training now. When Tango is on the loose, someone must be on "Tango Duty" and follow her everywhere.
She is the most active puppy ever. She likes to chew so we have an assortment of toys for her. She loves to play with the other dogs, who are not quite sure how much they like her yet. Her favorite game so far is "Dog Rugby" where all of our dogs play with a big food ball and roll it around to get the food out. It is bedlam.
She is loving to sleep on top of anyone and really likes to snuggle.
We can't wait to start Puppy Kindergarten on the 9th!
