allergies

i went to the vet yesterday and got a cortizone shot i was losing all the hair on my front legs. the vet said it was some sort of allergy.

they weighed me and now i am 66 pounds not such a little pup anymore

i have mastered the command set and shake and i am learning to lay down.

Dear Diary,


well i got my pins out on the the 11th doc said i was healing up nicely.i got 2 stitches, which i pulled one out after i got home, mom called the vet and he said it would be ok. i am still on restriction for 2 more weeks no stairs or horse play.

I slept all night ( i was really knocked out from surgery) when i got up on Saturday morning and went out to pee and i had blood in my urine , mom freaked out and we again went to the vet (side note i spend a lot time at the vet)
anyway i had a little kidney infection and got same medicine
on Sunday i got sick and threw up and started coughing .mom called the vet on Monday turns out i was allergic to the medicine they gave me. kinda like mom she can only take certain medicine 2.

anyway doctor tom said to quit taking the medicine as long as i had no more blood and he would make a note in my file that i was allergic to it.

I spent Monday in the basement in my new steel cage dad got me it's really big and mom got me a pillow to sleep on i had lots of company even with mom and dad at work. the plumber was here working on my new house.

on Tuesday mom and i went shopping she got me some new toys a gray elephant, a new ball and a rope pull.

she is checking into dog school for me and but i don't thing i need it .

Me and the cats are getting along better they stay away from me and i stay away from them.

well i gotta go for now mom wants to go again and i love a good car ride.

vet visit march 20th 2008

serius vet visit on the 20th

the vet x-rayed his leg and decided that another 3 weeks was needed for the bones to heal he said that it was looking good.
so in 3 weeks the pins should be able to come out

we had him tested for heart work that came back negative

he got his shots and another pigs ear

and he was weighed he now weighs 53 pounds quite a difference from when we found him

he seems to be a very happy dog now and we hope he forgets how he was treated as a puppy

rescued

on feb 8th 2008 we where out driving around i just happened to look down this steep ditch and i saw this little puppy just standing he looked like he was in really bad shape. i yelled stop and we pulled over i got out and slid down this embankment to the pup. he was 1/2 starved and was dragging his back leg. i picked him up and carried him back up the hill in 12 inches of snow.

we took him to the vet and they weighed him(24 pounds) and x-rayed his leg it was broken in 3 places including the pelvis

they kept him for a week so he was strong enough for surgery then they put 3 pins in his leg.

we live in a community whee you are allowed so many pets so now we are buying a house so we can keep the pup we pooled the family for names and came up with serius black from the harry potter books we decided that that was a good name
