Arrival Story:
We got Zoey when she was 5 weeks old. My grandparents live on an 8 acre farm and have a total of like 3 neighbors. I was almost 7 when we got Zoey. My brothers and I were outdoors at my grandparents playing when a little fluffy poof ball came running up, Upon further inspection, we found out it's a dog. LOL! We brought it inside and asked if we could keep her. At the time we had no dogs, just cats. My dad wasn't much of a dog person so we needed him to give the ok as well as my mom who'd already said "Fiiiine!!". We got my little brother who was 2 at the time to take her in and ask our dad if we could keep her and you know, nobody can say no to a 2 year old. We kept her. :) We later found out that her name was Zoey and that she was 5 weeks old. She was owned by a family friend who'd had a litter of puppies and they agreed to letting us keep her. She's been our lives ever since and will be 10 in a few months. I don't remember life without this dog and can't imagine her not being with us. I'll be 17 this year and to me, shes my sister. She helped "raise" us kids. Shes a big part of our family.

Zoey thought she was a cat most her life. Like I said, when we got her we had cats. Nothing but cats. It wasn't until years later we got a dog and even then it was a bigger dog and an outdoor dog so she didn't see it as part of the "pack". She'd nurse kittens (Even though she'd never been pregnant and wouldn't be for years upon years later), refuse any sort of dog food, tried to climb trees and when she was outside she'd jump on and lay on cars like a cat. Her best friend was my friends/neighbors cat Thomas. Zoey got a big surprise when she had her first litter of puppies and they weren't kittens.
