Hi my Elsa,
Mom is missing you again.....I wish I could look into your eyes today girl. I need your calming strength.
Baby Tulah is driving me nuts with this never ending rain.
It is making us all crabby.
I could really use your strength today.
Tomorrow we are taking Tulah up to the family farm for her very first time. She really is in need of a good mountain run.
I will be thinking of you and how you loved to run the hills and swim in that cold, clear crick.
I am sure you will be there in the wind, the sun, the trees and the flowers. You are now within the beauty of it all.

How can I thank you? I am so happy to be here. I got myself into a terrible situation last week.
Thank you and ALL of your Angels for flying down and watching over me while I was in the ER. Thank you, thank you.
Last week I ate/shredded the base of Mom's Sago Palm tree out on the deck. I didn't know I would get so sick.
Boy did I get sick. I threw up about 11 times and could not hold my head up by the time mom got me to Dr. Andrew. I got scared when they told mom I would need to go to the ER. I heard Dr. Andrew tell mom " this is bad". I felt the fear and worry mom had.
Then Dad showed up and I knew I did something very terrible.
At the Pet ER they told mom and dad to prepare themselves. FOR WHAT?? I thought. My tummy hurt me and I was weak. I just wanted to go to sleep in my bed but that was not to be. Vet Techs came out and got me and I walked slowly back. I did not turn around to see Mom and Dad's sad faces. What was happening to me?
The Vets told mom and dad to please call the ASPCA Poison Control Hotline for a case number. This would enable them to help us.
They admitted they were not familiar with this type of poisoning but would begin the deactivated charcoal Toxaban to help clear my system of the toxin.
It had been about 4 hours since I ate it.
Mom and Dad got the case number and the VET called ASPCA HOtline.
They were fabulous.
When mom and dad got home they called too. It did not sound too promising.
Elsa I knew you were with me. This is why I laid so quietly while they worked on me. I could see your angel brightness and it was warming me and providing me with comfort as I fought to get better.
All of the people at the ER were so nice to me. I didn't like the tubes and all of the sticks in my arm and the solutions down my throat but I cooperated.
Mom and Dad hardly slept all night. Mom called the ER in the middle of the night. She was so scared to hear but couldn't sleep if she didn't hear how I was. They told mom I was stable. No more vomiting,
no diarrhea. No sign of pain.
With this type of poisoning the window of time for liver damage is
24 and 48 hours after ingestion. The liver panels done the next night would tell all.
Wednesday as I lay in the ER, Melissa graduated from grad school.
Mom and Dad and mom mom were happy/sad that day.
Mom called the ER every couple of hours. They all knew TULAH!
They said I was doing well. I ate some breakfast and was resting comfortably.
Thanks Elsa. I needed that strength that you had all of your long life.
My lst liver panel was done at midnite. Mom stayed up and called.
It was NORMAL. 24 more hours to go.
It appeared I was going to be one of the few lucky dogs to beat this
SAGO PALM poisoning. So many do not.
I know it was because of mom acting very quickly, knowing what I ate and your help Elsa. I was one lucky pup.
Mom, Dad, Melissa, Phil, and mom mom came to see me after graduation. I was so happy to see everybody. Mom said I did not even look skinnier. They were giving me all kinds of iv proteins and sugars and stuff to keep my puppy health. I didn't lose a pound after that first day.
All of this because I chewed something I should not have.
Everybody should be warned about this plant because they are now being sold everywhere.
I know Elsa that you were smart enough to leave these alone. They are all over our beach place. I will never touch one again.
I know mom will never let me within 5 ft of one.
On thursday morning I was doing well. The Techs told mom I was trying to eat the mulch and rocks outside on my walks.
I guess I did not learn too much.
Mom was so happy that I sounded like her old Tulah.
That night they tested my liver again. Geez I hated those needles.
I was FINE. I could go home.
Dad and Mom emptied their wallet and I was discharged. Dad calls me a "golden" lab now instead of "yellow".
One more liver test by my own VET, Dr. Andrew and I would be
considered out of the woods.
Because I did so well and was so very fortunate I feel like we should let others know.
Most dog owners do not know the severity of this plant.
This is not like a plant that causes diarrhea or stomach upset for a few hours. This plant KILLS dogs. Be aware if they are in your area.
No amount of exposure to this plant is acceptable.
See the ASPCA Poison Control Hotline for SAGO PALM poisoning.
Order the FREE kit that lists the POISON CONTROL number.
This SAVED me.
Thank you Lord, Elsa, the Vets, The Poison Control Hotline and everybody for allowing me a chance to live a long and healthy life.

I know we have not been seen here as frequently as in months passed.
I guess you all may suspect the reason for that.
You got it.
Mom and Dad said whew.....they totally forgot the energy it takes to train a strong, rapidly growing labrador puppy. They are so worn out at the end of the day they both fall asleep on the sofa.
Mom said she would "never" do that.
We all just returned from my beach. It was Tulah's first trip.
She LOVED the beach. She LOVED the lake. She LOVED the lizards, a little too much actually. She LOVED the ocean. She LOVED the sand.
Do you get where I am going here?????
She is a little intense. A sweetie but it is ALL about her.
I was so glad to have gone along to help with her beach adjustment.
My guardian angel friends went along with me to assist.
Kodiak and Angel and a lot of the other pups from guardian angels forever loved.
They said they may "beg" off the next trip to the beach with Tulah.
Did them in too.
We had to intervene when she ran and jumped on unsuspecting beach strollers. Just walking along and then LOOK OUT here she comes.
Wouldn't you just know it though. Just about everybody she jumped on had a lab at home they were missing. So she cheered them up.
She also ran and jumped on a DOG TRAINER from Texas.
WOOPSIE. All of us guardian angels got a giggle out of that one.
She loved Tulah. She also showed mom and dad how to keep her from jumping. Which worked for about 2 min by the way.
She said Tulah is a little young for formal obedience training. Just be consistent and firm.
I was older when I made my first trips to the beach. So can't say I would have been any better with all of that excitement in front of me.
We had to fly really fast and herd her back when she TOOK off after a guy riding a bike on the waters edge. NO NO TULAH!! We all screamed.!
We had to teach her proper beach behavior. Don't eat the shells.
Don't dig the sand really, really fast so it flies up into peoples faces.
DON"T drink the ocean water.
DON"T do pee pee in the condo.
She was confused. The slider doors at home lead to the back yard. The slider door at the condo leads to the balcony. She would wait at the wrong door and by the time we knew it was too late.
Mom went out and bought her a bell like the one at home and she got it almost immediately.
We ALL ran when we heard that jingle.
DON"T run into the neighbors condo just because the door is open. Especially when they are NOT especially dog friendly people.
As far as water goes right now when Tulah sees it she wants IN.
I was trying to keep her out of the duck pond because mom had said NO MORE water today Tulah. She had been hosed off and dried and she was wearing her good collar and bandana. Well, you can guess what she did. The little trouble maker. IN she went. She saw some
ducks swimming and she scrambled into the water after them.
I must say Mom did not have a happy face when dad returned with Tulah to the Condo.
We are all a little worn out.
I am happy she loved the place. I knew she would.
Mom and Dad were glad to get away and did enjoy some sun on the beach while Tulah slept in her crate.
I sent them a big round rainbow. When they sat down in their beach chairs mom looked up and there it was. A round rainbow.
She knew right away it was me sending my beach frisbee.
She felt so happy to know I was still with them.
I will always be with my family. No matter what.

Hello and Happy Easter to you!
It has been 8 long months since I left you for the bridge. Wow the time is flying by. Funny, since now I can fly, ha ha.
I hardly feel like I have been away since I spend so much time there caring for the new one. Tulah
She is so sweet I must say so myself. Mom you say you can see
"me" in her eyes some times and you are right. I am always there mom watching over things.
I see Tulah is going to have her first Easter Basket. She is sure to love it.
I do believe she is getting bored with some of her toys and the new ones will add some pizazz to her collection.
She is a lucky puppy to be there with you. I am so happy I could send her for you.
I see you have made a good friend too with her first mama, Kim,
that is very nice. This is why I choose this family for you mom.
I knew they were special so I led you to them.
Thanks for all you did for me. I will now do for you.
I know you remember me always and can feel me at home with you.
I see the neighbors still talk about me too. Elsa this and Elsa that.
I am never far.
Happy Easter to the BEST family!
Your Guardian Angel now, Elsa

In case you weren't hovering around yesterday when I tried to take Tulah on her first car ride in my mustang. I had to fill you in.
It was priceless. And frustrating.
I am sure you and the other angels at the bridge had a good ha ha over it.
The car harness we got for her is great as long as there are two people riding in the car. One to drive and one to keep her from tangling herself up like a houdini.
I was so expectant yesterday. All of the customers were eagerly awaiting her arrival with their orders and the day was just beautiful.
She was anxious to jump into the car and I thought okay good all is well.
After hooking her into the seat belt and making sure she had her pillow she likes to rest her head on and putting all avon orders well out of reach we took off. By the time we went around the curve she had pulled herself all the way to the next seat tangling her rear foot in the process. The more she pulled the more her foot went behind her.
Of course I had to stop and detangle her. We were 3 houses up from our driveway.
We started out again. This time she tried to lunge to the floor of the car and managed to hang herself up between the back seat and the floor. At that point I knew she was fighting the harness keeping her in the seatbelt. It is a great harness if you don't fight it. She can lay or sit or stand just within a range. Well, I decided to take her off of the seatbelt and let her "sit" in the seat as a last ditch effort. This is afterall how I trained you to ride in the car.
BIG MISTAKE. In a matter of seconds she had pushed her head towards the front of the car, mouthing at the change in the console change holder and grabbed the corner of my pocketbook. She was headed for the drivers seat so I had to stop again.
She was not interested in going by bye. Just chewing. And sitting on my lap for the trip.
I turned the car around, took her out, put her in her crate and set out
I was disappointed and so were the customers but at this point
I think she is not yet ready for the car.
The excitement that goes along with a trip in the car wasn't there yet.
To her it just provided another opportunity to chew things.
She is only 14 weeks and I couldn't remember exactly when you began accompanying me on my trips around town but I am pretty sure it was 12 weeks. Oh well...........maybe in a couple of weeks.
If anyone has any ideas for my baby whirlwind it would be appreciated.
Anytime you want to sprinkle Tulah with your calming angel dust is fine with me, Elsa.

Today it snowed. Remember how you used to love it? I can remember you scooting all around the yard that funny little scoot you used to do when you were completely happy.
We will take Tulah out in it. She seems to like it so far but hasn't ventured off of the deck. It is a little deep for her.
I think I will shovel her a little path so she can get around without having to plow right thru up to her chest.
This weekend we have been taking Tulah into your woods. I swear I can see you running the path just like you used to.
Maybe you are.
She is doing great. She responds to the whistle and comes bounding back. So far she seems to love it as much as you did.
Thanks for sending us such an adorable little puppy and piece of yourself.

Thanks again so much for all of your help with our new little Tulah.
She is a treasure and a joy to be around ( well most of the time).
You know how puppies are.
Just wanting you to know that another holiday is here without you and even with Tulah here to fill the void it still feels like somebody is missing from our house. Your void is just too big to fill.
Tulah is a wonderful pup and we love her. I wish you could have met her but then she would not be here without you having gone to the bridge. Isn't it funny how things work out. I know you and she have a very special relationship. So many of her firsts were parts of your life with us. It makes me both happy and sad at the same time. And the biggest shame of all is that our beloved dogs don't walk along with us for longer.
I am sure it is because there is a very special place that you need to be when your work here is done.
Thank you for loving us and being such a loyal friend. I am grateful for the time you were here loving us and for being a part of our family.
We miss you buddy.
We miss your sweetness and light.
We miss your face at the window when we pull up to home.
We miss your soft eyes so expressive and deep.
We miss your scent.
We miss your kisses.
We miss your presence.
We miss your cautious watching over us.
We miss everything that was you our special girl.
Thank you for your beautiful Valentine. We do not know who helped you with this special greeting but they are sure to be a friend forever.
I'll be watching for your star tonight, Elsa, my forever friend.

Hi Elsa, Geez we are really missing you. Whoda thought two nasty old cats like us would admit to missing a mere dog but I gotta say we certainly do. First you left us and we were so sad and lonely without your warm fur to rub against. Then we got used to how quiet the house was and NOW things have turned upside down around here.
Back when we heard wind of a pup moving in we sent an urgent request via a smart alec pigeon who said he had contacts with the other side. I am guessing you did not receive our letter detailing our important "what kind of puppy to send" request. I guess we got scammed by the old bird. Rats.
Well, anyway just a few things:
Is there anyway you can turn down the angel dustings on this one?
Pumpkin and I are thinking this one is a bit over the top If you are sprinkling her with your magic angel dust every day you may want to cut back a bit.
We know you and the other angels worked hard to make this happen for the family but geez nobody consulted us and the puppy is cute n don't get us wrong but whoooooeeeee she is a handful of
Both Pumpkin and I have been isolated from the kitchen and the family room for the better of all. It is kind of like ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Sometimes we sit up high and look down and into the kitchen and try to figure this little one out. She is always busy. Busy, busy, busy.
Running, jumping, chasing, rolling over, whining, biting things,
eating, and barking at us. She even talks in her sleep. I tried to sneak by her once. I thought she was asleep and all of a sudden she
started yipping and her paws were moving and I got the heck out of dodge.
Is there anything we can do?
Pumpkin and I were hoping for a more quiet dog. You know how you were? Pumpkin says I am being unrealistic that all dogs start like this.
Geez that is a real shame. I can't believe that Pump is accurate saying you were like this once. He keeps telling me you were and that you and he were fast friends. But I don't know about this.
Well right now both Pumpkin and I are a little old and set in our high and mighty kitty cat ways to entertain a puppy. But we would like to have somebody she will listen to tell her the house rules as far as the cats go.
I heard Mom say something about you whispering in her ears while she sleeps. Would you mind telling her the following for us?
Thanks Elsa - we owe you one. Wish you were here with us.
1. DO NOT BARK AT THE CATS
2. DO NOT SNIFF THE CATS IF THEY ATTEMPT TO WALK BY
3. DO NOT GO NEAR OUR POTTIES ( THAT IS JUST TOO RUDE)
4. OUR SPACE IS CLEARLY NOT YOUR SPACE. NO DOGS ALLOWED
5. TRY AND BE MORE QUIET IN THE MORNING
6. TRY AND BE MORE QUIET IN THE DAY TIME
7. TRY AND BE MORE QUIET AT NIGHT
8. JUMPING UP AT US DOES NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES
9. NO LICKING ALLOWED CATS CAN LICK THEMSELVES
10. TRY AND CONTROL YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES
11. KEEP YOUR TOYS TO YOURSELF WE DO NOT WANT TO SNIFF IT, TOUCH IT OR PUT IT IN OUR MOUTHS - GROSS
12. IT IS NOT OKAY TO ALWAYS ACT EXCITED
13. HAVE A LITTLE DIGNITY WILL YA
14. LIFE IS NOT A BOWL OF DOG TREATS
15. THE KITCHEN IS NOT A NASCAR TRACK, A JUNGLE GYM,
A PUPPY DAYCARE, A SWIMMING POOL, A BUFFET FOR DOGS,
OR A PLACE TO BRING STICKS, MULCH, ROCKS, DIRT AND ANY OTHER NONSENSE YOU CAN GATHER FROM THE BACK YARD.
16 .WE KNOW YOU LIKE EVERYBODY. ENOUGH ALREADY
17. IF YOU WANT US TO LIKE YOU AND WE KNOW YOU DO
TRY TO BE A LITTLE MORE CAT LIKE. IF YOU COULD SIT STILL FOR 5 MINUTES WE WOULD SHOW YOU HOW IT'S DONE.
17. AND LASTLY WHEN YOUR BIG AND STRONG COULD YOU WATCH OUR BACKS?
LOVE, PUMPKIN AND PAVOROTTI YOUR NEW RELUCTANT

Great job with little Tulah. She is learning more each day. See I told you mom. I know you are comparing her to me. Every dog is different and she is a beautiful puppy.
She seems to be settling in now mom. Her routine is becoming more stable and thanfully she is going to the door now to be let out to do her biz. Gotta be quick I see that. Hang in there mom she is learning and trying to please. Her biting and nipping is getting better too.
I miss being there with you guys. And I feel you missing me too mom.
Having Tulah is bringing back many memories of me, isn't it?
My life was complete mom. There was nothing more I could have asked for. You made my life joyful and I thank you.
I do have many important things to do here at the bridge. Right now we are dusting the little puppy who was left outside all night tied to a tree and found partially frozen with our angel dustings. He needs us. The poor little guy. I am wherever I am needed with my angel friends. So many animals are in need of guardian angels. It is so wonderful to have so many loved angels here at the bridge to show all of the needy animals who came here unloved some love and affection. They make wonderful angels mom. They love unconditionally.
I wish every pup could be as lucky as I was and find a forever family right from the start. Here at the bridge we are sharing the love our forever families gave to us with the ones who were not as lucky as we were.
You would love it here mom so try not to worry about me.
Don't think I am unhappy because another buddy has come into your life. I wanted it that way. I want you and Dad and Melissa to be happy.
I can already see the joy she is bringing to the family.
Just like I did.
I can't wait until we all go to the beach. And yes of course I will be there. Tulah will really need me there at the beach.
There is so much to see and learn. I bet she is going to be a little afraid of the golf cart. Just like me. She will learn it is a good ride to the sandy beach. Once she sees the other dogs riding around in the carts she will want to ride right up front. I can see her now.
Please don't worry about me here mom. I am fine. Love the puppy for me.
Your Guardian Angel Elsa
