10/07/04 - First Visit to Dog Park

Well Shatz finished her shots on the 5th and got to have her first visit to the dog park in Irvine....What fun that was (except for the car ride, she still gets car sick and that is no fun)! Went with her "nephews" London and Cole. At first I put her in with the puppies and small dogs because I thought she would have more fun there but she didn't like it there, wanted to play with London and Cole. Once I realized that she would just be looking longingly at the "big dog" area instead of playing I moved her over and the fun started....She got to run and chase other dogs and they got to chase her, boy did Shatz get a workout! She was exhausted when we were through! Didn't even feel like eating her dinner when we got home, just wanted to go to bed and go to sleep! Can't wait until next time! PS: Going to bring wipes with me next time to remove some of the doggie slobber from all the "kissing" going on!

9/16/04 - Uh! Oh! A digger she may be......

When we first saw Shatz dig in the planter to bury her bone we thought....oh how cute is that! Today she decided to try and bury "whatever" in the lawn (we were not out in the yard at this time)....well for sure she is quite the digger (another 15 min. and she might have been able to dig to China). Now to stop it before if gets to bad! And she much prefers outside to inside. When we have her in the house with us she picks up a toy (one that is for in the house not outside) and goes and sits by the slider until we let her back out to play. Even if she is a digger (and I really, really hope we can curtail that problem) she is soooo adorable!

9/15/04 - First visit with Cole & London

Schatz went and met/visited her "nephews" London and Cole Helmestein for the first time....And what a fun time she had. Cole only growled at her a few times, otherwise just tolerated her. And London even shared his toys (big deal for him, he doesn't even share with his brother Cole). Also went on her first big walk and just loved it! When she got home she conked out like a light! Sooo tired......And she got her first pigs feet to eat (yummy for her tummy)......I think she will be looking for more of these!

Car rides are not going to well......Can't seem to go on any without getting sick to her tummy! Hopefully she will grow out of this stage.

9/14/04 - Visit to Vet and first meeting with "cousin" Rowdy

What a wonderful puppy she is! We just all love and adore her! We have now had her two weeks she just went and had her second visit at the vet for her shots. Originally had her down as going on 4 months but the vet now thinks she is just big and only between 3 and 3 1/2 months old (will get a better guess at next vet visit in 2 weeks). Schatz has only had one small accident in the house. She is soooo good, waits until you let her out and runs to the edge of the grass and does her business. She enjoys being outside more then inside (she has a nice large yard to play in). She got her first chance of a road trip and getting to play/meet with a "cousin" and what a wonderful time she had. Her "cousin" who is 8 (Rowdy) was so patient with her. She jumped all over him and he didn't get upset with her once. He was very good with "the baby". And she slept so well last night, totally exhausted from all her play time. Tomorrow she gets to go on her second road trip to meet/play with her "nephews", London and Cole and hopefully that will go well too. What a wonderful additional she has made to our household, we adore her!
