A new sister? Maybe...

I wrote in my last entry about how mum wanted to adopt that puppy, she said if it was still there this weekend then she'd adopt it. Well she worked yesterday and it was still available, she's all by herself now because her sister went to a new home. We're not 100% sure on a decision. The thing is yesterday she started to get really sick. In the morning she was a little low but still playing. By the afternoon she would just sleep, she wouldnt get up, she was extremely lethargic and wasnt eating anything. If mum does adopt her and it isnt anything serious she still wont be able to come home until she's 100% better which might be a number of weeks. Mum doesnt want anything getting transferred to me.

The one big thing that has mum questioning this is that there is a chance that it may be parvo. Now parvo isnt very common where I live, not that many dogs get it. However since we've started rescuing dogs from rural areas more and more puppies have had it. Mum doesnt want to adopt a puppy just to have it put down. But then what if she makes a fanastic recovery and some one else adopts her.

I think mum might go ahead and adopt her but she has to get approval from the whole family which may be difficult since mum is the only one that likes animals. We shall have to wait and see, still a few hours until mum goes down to the shelter.
