Last night I had my first obedience class. There were 8 dogs in my class including me, I was one of the larger ones along with a German Shepherd. We did really basic things, sitting, looking, staying. We did an exercise where we had to pair up with another dog and our owners had to make us sit when greeting which is really what I need since I get over excited and just pull towards the other dog. I did really well and was focused to much on mum. The other dog walked in circles around me and I held my sit.
We also did another exercise where we were taught to sit when someone approached us which some of the jumpy dogs really needed. I did perfect and stayed in a sit the whole time. Then the challenge came, we had to make out way around to every dog so that they would know to sit for strangers too. When mum went back to me everyone said how well behaved I was. Someone said I deserved a special treat afterwards.
Then we moved on to stay which I am pro at haha. The trainer saw that I already knew it so she tried to make it harder by distracting me. She started jumping around me in circles but I held my sit and stayed, mum then called me to come and I listened perfectly.
I am the star pupil of the class, mum thinks it might be too easy since I already know alot of commands and tricks. The reason she takes me is to get me used to doing it with other dogs around and learning to not be distracted.
At the last class we have a little talent show but we have to be taught a new trick, I already know so many mum has no idea what to teach me.
