I am so very sad because one of my first Dogster friends has gone to the Bridge today. Lady Chewee Bear Kirkpatrick. She had an enlarged heart and liver just like me and they found masses that looked like Cancer. She had been sick for a few days and was not eating. This week she had spent each day at the vets office getting IV's but she just could not recover. RIP sweet Chewee Bear. Dogster will not be the same without you and I will miss you terribly. Mommy and I are praying for your family to have comfort and peace in your passing and to think on all the wonderful memories over the years. Watch over us sweet Angel Chewee and tell Brandy that her mom and I love her and miss her terribly. Until we meet again at Rainbow Bridge or Heaven, RIP dear sweet friend.
Love
Your furfriend

We got the results of the test I had yesterday and I DO NOT have cushings disease. Yeah!!!!!
I have been given an antibiotic to take for a week, a special diet for a week for the bladder stones and a liver supplement to help my liver heal.
Mom will talk to the vet on Monday to see what he wants to do about the heart disease.
Mom is so relieved that all she wants to do now is sleep, sleep, sleep.
Me.... I am just glad all the tests are over. That was not fun.
I want to thank all my special friends for all your gifts, thoughts and prayers. You are all so fantastic, I love you all.
PLEASE REMEMBER MY FRIEND MISS DAYZEE. KEEP HER IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS FOR HEALING OF HER NECK INJURY.
Love & Hugs

Well, I went and got the ultrasound today and they found lots of things wrong. My heart is enlarged so I am in the early stages of heart disease. My trachea is totally collapsed. I have bladder stones that I will need surgery to remove. My back is full of arthritis and as we knew, my liver is very enlarged. Mom took me back to the vet's today for an 8 hour test to try and tell is liver disease or if I have cushings disease. The vet feels that it is cushings but mom is hoping and praying that it is liver disease. That can be managed much easier. Sooo... I am spending the day away from and at that awful place that everyone tells me is a place to ge in order to feel better. Could a fooled me. Ha Ha. I will update when I get home and we know more about what is going on with me. Love ya all.

I want to say a special thank you to all my friends for your healing thoughts, prayers, POTP and gifts. I am feeling very much like my old self today but I know that I still have to find out why my liver is so large. We have been unable to go and get the ultrasound this week due to the bad weather and icy roads. Mom and Grandma are taking really good care of me though. I am on a bland diet of chicken and rice, it is good but not as filling. I keep telling mom she needs to feed me more. We have an appt. tomorrow morning at 10:45 if we are able to make it. I really hope it turns out to be something very minor and easy to treat. Please keep us in your prayers. Mom is really scared about why my liver has gotten so big. The Dr. said it could be so many things from an infection to the big C. I will keep you updated as we find out the results of the ultrasound and any tests that they run. I love you all.
Hugs & Kisses

I know, I know, long time, no hear. I have been MIA from Dogster for a long time and writing is long overdue.
I do want to thank you, all my dear friends who have sent me well wishes and have been praying for me. I am doing much better now. I am actually walking around the house on all fours again. Today is the first day that mom has not given me any pain meds and I am doing ok. I favor my right rear leg some still but it is getting much better. I am back to driving mom and dad crazy with all my barking, especially when they are eating. I am stepping down the one step to go out and go potty but mom still has to bring me up. I am a little scared to try it by myself yet. The only time I get put in that awful pen in the livingroom is at night now, and I hate it. I let mom and dad know by keeping them awake for awhile after they put me in for the night. I guess mom is still afraid that I will jump off of the bed in the middle of the night and re injure my leg. Hopefully she will let me sleep with them again soon. I will try to be a little better about keeping everyone up to date on what is going on in my life. BTW, I have a new sister that mom and dad saved from a shelter. Her name is Cherub,"Cherry". I hope you all will friend her and make her feel welcome to Dogster. She is still shy but is getting better.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I will talk to you all soon.
Love and miss you all,
Nikki, the princess

After breakfast we say our last goodbye to Arenal Volcano and its marvelous sight.
It's almost 11am and we start to sail back. We find such a wonderful weather on our way back, shinning sun, beautiful ocean, great winds which will help us get back on time. Woo-hoo......
Hey, are those the same dolphins who brought us to Tortuguero????They are our sea angels......they are making sure we get back safe.
Finally we get to Cozumel right to time to leave our love boat and get our flight back home.
This sure was a dream trip..........Thank You Lord.
And Thank You my darling Husband. It was a dream come true.
These were his words to me at the end of our lovely Honeymoon.
"Darling I really hope you enjoyed our trip, I planned it with all my heart as my wedding gift to you. I love you, my furever wife.
Brandt III "
I will never forget this wonderful trip that you gave to me knowing this was exactly what I would throughly enjoy sharing with the love of my life. I love you dearly. Nikki

Wednesday -Once more, way before sunrise, our day begins.
Today's adventure starts with Ben, our driver/guide taking us thru an scenic drive to Arenal Volcano, stopping en route at La Paz Waterfall Gardens for an up close view at a system of 5 different waterfalls.
Here get the chance to enjoy the cool waters of some beautiful waterfalls, we take a short rest to have a quick lunch.
After lunch we resume our trip to Arenal Volcano National Park . Suddenly we get an impressive view of this "giant which rumbles" and erupts with spectacular displays of vapor and lava. What a view!!!!
This afternoon we enjoy a hike with our guide inside the Arenal National Park , we travel through the rainforest with its dense vegetation and majestic trees, where monkeys, tropical birds, and other creatures can frequently be seen.
We continue over a cold blocky lava flow from Arenal Volcano that formed in 1992, and provides panoramic vistas of the volcano, forests, mountains and Arenal Lake.
We’ll spend the night at Peace Lodge, and since everything comes to an end, we'll be geting ready fur our trip back home.
Wonderful, exciting day.

We spent Monday night and the following night at the Turtle Beach Lodge. It's an incredible place where you feel as if you could stay here furever.
The beach is extraordinary, white sands and crystal clear waters.
With all day thru access to foods and drinks we might have gain a few pounds, we couldn't stop trying every different exotic dish we saw, BOL!
The area of Tortuguero is rightfully called “The Amazon of Costa Rica” because access is only by boat on Jungle Rivers, privacy is quite appropriate fur honeymoon couples, we felt in heaven.
Rest, sun, sea.......and the best of company......LOVE!
Tomorrow we will be heading to visit La Paz Waterfall Gardens, they say it's a pawsome place we can't miss. We'll let you know.....
For pics go to Brandy's page and check out his diary too at www.dogster.com/dogs/509573.
See you all soon. Love Ya.

1st Stop Monday morning -the port city of Limon before continuing our trip to reach Tortuguero. There a small boat and a tour guide where already waiting fur us to continue our trip thru the canals lining the Atlantic Coast to the Tortuguero Canals through 50 km of tropical rain forest. Early noon we arrive at Tortuguero. We had a quick lunch and after a boat trip of 2 hours thru canals and lagoons of the Tortuguero National Park, we expected to see sea creatures, beautiful birds, monkeys and sloths….and we did.....
Tortuguero, Costa Rica, which can be translated as Land of Turtles, is a village on the Northern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica in the Limón Province.
The beaches around Tortuguero are key nesting sites for many of the world's most endangered species of sea turtle.
From late June to early October the prime turtle season brings thousands of Atlantic Green Sea Turtles to the beaches of Tortuguero...
As the boat turns off of The Canal of Palms and winds down a narrow private canal you can feel the jungle closing around you. Its Turtle Beach Lodge canal which has been described as “a million dollar entrance.” Caimans and colorful lizards scurry for safety into the water and birds cry out a greeting.
We’ll spend the night and following day at the Turtle Beach Lodge, before resuming our tour, this time to La Paz Waterfalls Gardens.
Brandy III has all the pics on his page and in his diary so to see all the pics go to www.dogster.com/dogs/509573
Thanks....... Love Ya All
