Retrieving, Retrieving, Retrieving -- oh, and did I say Retrieving? She also likes swimming and anything she can put in her mouth.
Pet-Peeves:
Pushy doggies. Not getting the ball, shoe or bone thrown for her when she wants.
Favorite Toy:
She likes it all! Give her a bumper, a stuffie, a stick, a ball -- they all give her joy.
Favorite Food:
Bugs -- lizards -- birds -- hotdog treats -- liver snacks you name it!
Favorite Walk:
She'd rather swim than walk. So the beach and/or a place with a pond is where she'd like to be.
Best Tricks:
I like it when she closes the door behind her with her nose. She also does summersaults on command.
Arrival Story:
We were looking for a retriever but we had no idea what a Chesapeake Bay Retriever was until we found them on the internet. We then contacted chessie rescue: www.cbrrescue.org and we were approved for a rescue dog. However, we wanted a puppy and no pups were available at the time. So, with the help of a rescue volunteer we found a breeder and purchased Jessie.
Bio:
Jessie is simply an amazing dog. She's highly intelligent, has great prey drive and her retrieving drive is outstanding. She learns so quickly and makes us laugh every day with her antics.
Chesapeakes are definitely not the breed for everyone as they are more than what the average person can handle. However, I wouldn't trade my peake in for the world!

Here are the rules:

Jessie's 7 pawsome facts:
1. I'm a retrieving fool.
2. My mom, my trainer, grandma and several of mom's friend say I'm 'special', not ordinary and wicked smart.
Mom says I'm the smartest dog she's ever known. I open doors (sliders, pantries, bi-folds.. you name it). I also taught myself how to get ice & water from the automatic dispensers on the fridge. I know things mom doesn't - like when there's a ball way up high in the very top of the pantry.
3. When I stay with grandma I get into EVERYTHING. Last week, I retrieved some money for her (which I found in a pocket) and a ham sandwich (which I took off the counter). Grandma let me eat as a reward for bringing her money. She now calls me the 'money dog.'
4. I love to train, train and did I say train?!!
5. I have a little sister named Morgan and lots of foster fur kids come stay with me.
6. I've been mistaken for a Pit Bull mix and a Chow mix before -- as if!
7. I don't like car rides but have gotten better since mom bought a SUV just for me. When I'm excited, I've been known to leap in even when the tailgate isn't down yet for me. I've been known to leap up nearly 6 feet high (all four paws straight up off the ground).
