Arrival Story:
We decided to adopt another Golden Retriever after the death of our beloved Lance, who had died in the winter of 1998. Our daughter had been away from home for several months after the death of Lance, and upon her return, we started the search for another Golden. We wanted one close in size and color to Lance. We looked at many Goldens before we found McDuff. He was a pudgy, active little boy when we adopted him. His biological father had been killed by a car shortly before his birth. McDuff' looks so much like Lance but, oh, what a difference in personalities.... both have/had charming personalities, however.

Bio:
McDuff is just a big sissy. He is scared of almost everything, except competiton from Hunter or Oberon (our daughter's Border Collie mix dog). McDuff cowers when having his ears cleaned... it is a two or three person job... just to hold him up. Brushing him is almost as much fun. To add to the problems, Hunter is trying to get you to clean his ears or brush him while you are attempting to work on McDuff. McDuff loves to play ball but gives up when Hunter beats him to the ball. He is a wonderful "guard" dog and barks at any NEW or UNWANTED visitors or vehicles.

Yikes, yesterday was my birthday and mom forgot.!!!!!!

Oh my dogginess! My birthday was yesterday and my mom actually forgot it. It was a furry busy day for her because she had Cameron all day and she had a visitor. By the time all that fun was over, her brain was fried so she forgot what day it was.

Sammy Jo and furmily sent me a fun football to help me celebrate my birthday. Thank you so much to Sammy Jo and furmily.

We are so thankful that we will have another chance with Dogster and are praying it will be restored to something similar to the old days with all the fun and games.

I am DOTD today. I just can't believe it. I have never had a- diary honor.

Oh my doggieness... I am the DOTD! Whoot! This is extra nice as I have NEVER had a diary honor while on Dogster. Then again, my mom chose to let my kitty siblings do most of the writing. Silly ol' gal.

I want to thank the Diary Gal for selecting me. I am very honored to receive this diary honor.

I would like to thank Redford and his family for the most pawsome picture to help me celebrate my diary honor. Wow. What to say? Mom tells me that Redford's kitty siblings have made lovely pictures for my kitty siblings when they got honors and had celebrations to enjoy. What a kind family!

Crystal sent a lovely congratulation cake picture to help me celebrate this pawsome honor. Thank you so much.

I got a lovely congrats message from a cutie pie named Khia. Mom told me she had a Doberman named Kia many years ago. How nice. Thank you, Khia.

I got a crown from a dear kitty cat named Platelicker. Cats are really so nice. I don't know why some dogs don't like them. Thank you, Platey.

Sammy Jo and family sent me a pretty red heart to help me celebrate my diary honor.

I would really like to thank everyone for the sweet gifties and messages and love shown to me. I wish this site could go on but we know that dreaded day is coming all too soon. I will miss Dogster and the pals made there. I wish each of you a wonderful life.

Thanks for the friendship over the years.

This will probably be my very last diary posting. I want to thank all my furiends throughout our journey on Dogster for always being there for us. It deeply saddens me and my whole furmily that this precious site will no longer be available. It has been a wonderful refuge and place where all of us lived in a play world. Our humans made forever furiends with us and with each other. Nothing will ever replace this wonderful site.

I am further saddened that the closing day is also my 16 birthday. What a sad way to celebrate my birth.

Many thanks and much love to all of you.
