My Mom went away for 4 days so I (my Dad) wrote her a diary!

Mom went on a Caribbean cruise with her girlfriends. As her birthday present, she asked Dad to stay home from work with us. We've never been away from her this long! We barked a diary and he wrote it down for us so we could give it to Mom when she came home.

Friday 3/27/09: We can't believe you woke us up at 3:45 a.m. No big deal, we went back to sleep and got up when Dad went to make sure Jeff (our human brother) got up for work. We went out and did our duty. Dad gave us a Denta stick then we went upstairs and rested while Dad read the paper, in bed. Dad got up and had some cereal and we were in and out of the back yard. Then Dad got out our splitter leash and took us for an hour walk around Orchard Village (the development next to our's). We saw a house that had a fire a short time ago. When we got back from our walk, we got a carrott (I think we're gonna get a lot of carrotts in the next few days!). We rested for a while and then Dad took a shower and got dressed to see Uncle Harold. We're not sure who that is but we got a Milkbone before Dad left. We just hung out while he was gone (honestly, how does he know what we did while he was gone? bol). When Dad got back we went out back and chased bubbles for a while and then he picked up our poop and raked. The weather was nice so we hung out in the yard with him. When we came in we got some carrotts (told ya!). Dad watched golf and we snoozed in the chair with him. Dad fed us and then got ready to go to a work dinner. When he left he told us maybe Jeff would be home while he was at his dinner - yeah sure, SU is playing tonight (our college basketball team which made it into the Sweet 16) and he really thinks Jeff will be coming home? Just as we thought, Jeff didn't come home but went with his buddies to get dinner and watch the game. Dad let us out when he got home so we could pee. He was gone 4 hours and must have felt bad so we got another carrott AND a Milkbone. Time for bed - ya know, there is lots of room on the bed with only one people person in it!

Saturday 03/28/09: We got up and went out then Dad got cleaned up and said he had to go carry that Uncle Harold guy. (He wasn't our real Uncle but a family friend who passed away and Dad was something called a pallbearer). We went out again before he left. Later on Jeff let us out to pee. Dad got home and we hung out. Dad then went out to get something out of the car and Jeff was talking to Uncle Tom on the phone, who wanted to talk to Dad. Jeff opened the door and I scooted out and went across the street. Dad came and got me and explained that I was very bad to do that as I could have gotten hit by a car. We went out back and played a bit and then Dad took us over to Gram and Grandpa's house for a run in their field. You know we love doing that! Dad fed us when we got home. He has to work at his part-time job tomorrow so we are going to bed early.

Sunday 03/29/09: Here it is Sunday already and Dad is getting ready to go to work. He let us out to do our duty - yup, we peed and pooped like good doggies. Jeff woke up sometime while Dad was gone and hung out with us and let us out. He gave us more carrotts (do you get the idea that we like carrotts?). Dad got home and fed us and then we watched some Tiger guy play golf - Dad was all excited as he won on the last hole and that was cool. We didn't really have any idea what he was talking about but wagged our tails politely anyway.

Monday 03/30/09: Dad had to get up to take out the garbage. Then we went back to bed for a while. We went out back and chased bubbles for a while. We got a Milkbone and later a carrott (Dad is getting tired of writing at this point - can you tell?). We watched a DVD that Jeff rented last night and then Dad had to go gather up the recyclable bin that blew away - it was windy and chilly here today. We went for a walk around the neighborhood and then we hung out while Dad went to the store. When he got home we went out back again. Later on I had to bark it up a bit to remind Dad it was time for dinner. Dad says he has to watch his show "24" and it is time to settle down because you will be home soon and he is pretty sure we will go bonkers! He was right, we climbed on you and licked you for
20 minutes until you said you had been properly welcomed home and we could stop.

We missed you Mom - glad you are home! We will overlook the fact that the Caribbean and Bahamas didn't seem to have any doggie gifts so you gave us another carrott instead!!!

XOXOXO

Hannah
