Arrival Story: Monroe used to be a breeding dog under a irresponsible backyard breeder. He dumped Buckshot(as he was formerly known) in the shelter and labeled him "aggressive" to be euthanized.
H'ed also dumped another male that we named Beaudacious.
I spent days with Monroe, getting to know him and his behavior and personality. I soon began to love him, as he was nothing but a big gentle love bug.
The Neptun Festival was coming up and I checked to make sure both Beaudacious and Monroe were coming, but when I got there Beaudacious was the only one there. The second day of the even came and neither of them were there. I was immediately worried, and when I went to the shelter, both dogs had came down with a very bad case of kennel cough.
Monday came & I was in school. One of the officer's, who is also my friend informed me that Monroe was going to be euthanized today because he was "aggressive" and "Lunging at people and other dogs".
I knew this was a lie, so after school I immediately called a woman who was interested in Beaudacious and asked her to adopt Monroe.
She went to the shelter, and adopted Beaudacious instead. I was completely heart broken.
Bio: Finally I made it to the shelter & we were throwing a "going away" party for Monroe, when I decided I loved him too much. I went to the officers and thankfully was able to prove Monroe was not aggressive. This bought me two days to get him adopted, and an adoption event was coming up.
At the last second I saw him off to a wonderful family who had adopted another Rescued Am Staff from the same shelter.
I couldn't be happier with where he is now, and he is still a big part of my life.

The Happy Ending: Monroe has been adopted for a few months now and he's doing great! He's been neutered, put on weight, has his own mattress, and he even gets spoiled with groomings at Petsmart. His family and I keep in contact, I know hes in a safe place
My typist is coming to visit me today! Its been a few months since I've seen her, even though she keeps in touch with my Mum.
Its almost been year since I've been adopted so my typist planned to take a visit =]
Expect more picfurs
I could smile for years, now that I've been adopted. I've had a rough start and my rescuer went through a lot of trouble to make sure I had one more chance. After being a breeding dog I was dumped at the shelter and labeled "aggressive" to be euthanized. Ashley (Roscoe's mum) spent many days with me, evaluating my behavior and getting to know me. She fell in love immediately and when she found out I was to be euthanized on Monday due to my "aggressiveness" that she knew I didn't have, she rushed to my aide and to prove I wasn't aggressive. Luckily, it worked, but it only bought me two days. There was one adoption event left I could attend and she took me there. Three hours and I only got ugly looks and sneers from people who felts I was a "bad dog" and "scary". At the last ticking minutes two men appeared and though Ashley was weary, after a long talk she handed me over. She helped them pick out a new collar a leash, and told them my new name "Monroe." I had been adopted.
But there was yet another surprise. As the mother and wife of the two men appeared, she pulled another being from their car. Another Am Staff they had rescued from the same shelter two years ago! After a quick meet and greet it was decided. I was to spend the rest of my years with them, happily ever after.
