My mommy and her dad took me to get a bath yesterday, because I peed in my crate recently, and a little bit of it got on my fur. I was a very good boy during the ride to the pet store, which is where I got my bath. I'm still not 100% comfortable in the car, but my mommy says I did great. Her dad carried me in the store, because my mommy thought I'd be more comfortable in someone's arms than on the floor. I didn't bark at the dogs and people in the store. My mommy thought that I would. During my bath, I behaved very well and didn't try to get away. I let my mommy and her dad spray me with water and cover me with shampoo, and I didn't complain at all. I tolerated the blow dryer without a problem, either. After my bath, I got weighed on the scale that was right outside the room that I was bathed in. I weighed 14 pounds! My mommy was surprised. She didn't think I weighed that much. When we got home, I jumped up on my mommy's bed and wiped myself dry all over her bed. I'm such a goofball. Now, I smell fresh and clean. My mommy is glad that I'm a dog who tolerates baths instead of a dog who can't stand them.

Since yesterday was the 4th of July and that means fireworks, Mommy was worried that every time I heard fireworks, I'd bark my head off at them. I'm a dog that barks at every loud noise I hear. But I didn't do that yesterday! There were a lot of fireworks, and I didn't bark at any of them. I only tried to hide a few times. Even though I didn't bark, I did shake and pant a lot. I pant a lot when I'm nervous, like during fireworks, thunderstorms, and when I ride in the car. Mommy was very surprised that I didn't bark at all. She was so proud of me. She thinks it had something to do with the fact that since there were so many, I was getting used to them. Also, she would reach down and pet me every now and then, to praise me for being so good. So she thinks that since she was rewarding me for being quiet, I didn't bark at all. Even when the fireworks that shake the ground went off, I didn't make a sound. Mommy was so happy that I behaved myself. I still don't like fireworks, though. Luckily, they only come once a year.

I have decided that I'm not doing the tagging game anymore, so if you don't mind, please don't tag me, okay?
Thanks.

First, I'll tell you about my first bath.
Last week, my mom took me with her to spend a few days at her grandparents' house. While we were there, I had my first bath since I've lived with my mom. My mom never thought of giving me a bath before, because I've never needed one. I don't have an odor, and I don't roll in anything that would make it necessary for me to have a bath. So my mom's grandma filled up the tub a little bit, and my mom put me in the water. To get me used to the water, my mom cupped her hands into the water and poured it over me. After that, my mom's grandma got a pitcher so that my mom could get me wetter quicker. When my mom poured it over me, I didn't move or make a sound. I just let her do it. I even tolerated the shampoo on me. The entire ordeal went a lot better than my mom thought it would. She thought I'd put up a fight. Although I didn't do that, I did try several times to jump out of the tub. But my mom kept blocking my escape. Darn! After my bath, she dried me off and brushed me. My fur was a lot more difficult to brush out than my mom expected. There were a lot of mats in there. Just so all you owners out there know, always brush out your dog's fur before a bath, not after. It'll be a lot easier that way.
Now to tell you about my big breakthrough.
Something you all should know about me is that I hate car rides. Hate them. I pant and tremble the whole trip, even before I get into the car. I throw up, too. My big breakthrough happened while my mom and her dad took me to meet her grandparents halfway and when her grandparents drove me and my mom to their house, the day that she and I spent a few days at their house. We meet halfway, just so that my mom's dad doesn't have to drive all the way to their house, or that they don't have to come all the way to ours. Anyway, 99% of the time that I'm in the car, I throw up. But, not this time! The entire trip to where we were going to meet halfway, I didn't throw up at all. And on the way to my mom's grandparents' house, I didn't throw up, either! When it was time to go back home to my house, I didn't throw up when we went to meet my mom's dad, and I didn't throw up on the ride home. My mom was so proud of me, the proudest she's ever been of me. She was so happy.

My dad set an appointment for me to get neutered today. My dad dropped me off at the vet's this morning, and my mommy and him picked me up this afternoon. The vet said that I was a good boy. I came out of the surgery just fine, but I was pretty sore and groggy. I still am. I've been sleeping a lot. I have to take medicine for the pain. The vet told my pawrents to keep me as quiet as they can. No jumping or roughhousing for the next couple days. I'll be in my crate almost all the time. I can deal with that. My mommy has to be careful when picking me up, though. I'll be glad when the anesthesia wears off, and the soreness goes away. Then, I can go back to beating up on Buster. BOL. :-)

Yesterday my mom and dad went to my mom's grandparents' house for Easter, and I got to go along. I had a good time, except on the ride there. My mom made the mistake of feeding me before we left, and I threw up in the car. So my dad had to pull over, so that my mom could clean out my crate. It was a mess. It took a little while to clean it all up, but my mom finally got it clean, and we continued on our drive. I had fun being petted and loved on by everyone. It was nice. I couldn't walk around, though, because my mom was afraid that I'd have an accident on the floor. I'm not housetrained yet. When I wasn't being held or loved on, I was in my crate. My mom made sure to check in on me every now and then to make sure I was doing okay. My mom remembered to not feed me right before we left, so that I wouldn't throw up again. I didn't, and I didn't have any accidents, either. My mom fed me when we got home, and then took me outside to potty. I was glad to be back home. I took a VERY long nap, which felt so good. My mom has learned her lesson: Don't feed me right before a car ride.

On Friday, my mommy took me to our neighbor across the street's house to meet her friend's new puppy. Her name is Whisper, and she's an 8-week-old Toy Fox Terrier. I had a lot of fun chasing her around the living room. She wasn't afraid of me at all. I liked her a lot. She was a friendly little puppy. Then, after her mommy took her home, our neighbor let her 2 dogs, Bailey and Molly, inside the house, because they were in the way. I played with them for a little while. They growled at me a few times, though. I guess I got on their nerves a little. But it was still fun. I was tuckered out when my mommy and I returned home. I went right to sleep. I can't wait to see them and Whisper again.

Hi, fellow Dogsters! I've been with my permanent family for a little over 3 weeks now, and I couldn't be happier. My mommy takes great care of me. She feeds me 3 times a day, and is great about letting me out to go potty when I let her know I need to go. She plays with me every day and always makes sure I don't wander off where she can't see me. She gives me lots of love and kisses, and I do the same to her. Buster is a great playmate. I love him a lot. He's very tolerant and never has he growled or bitten me out of aggression. He lets me chew on his ears and climb all over him. My human dad is very nice to me, too. I love him. My mommy, daddy, and I visited our neighbors across the street recently, and I got to meet their 2 dogs and 2 cats. The 2 cats, Chester and Omen, didn't seem to like me much. My mommy didn't put me down on the floor, because she was afraid of what they would do. But the 2 dogs, Bailey and Molly, liked me. They sniffed me a lot. One of the neighbors was holding me at one point, and I peed in his lap. I was scared, because I was in an unfamiliar environment. He didn't mind, though. I'm good about staying in my yard and not sneaking into the neighbors' yard. I'm at the point where I want to do what I want to do, not necessarily what my mommy wants me to do. I'm a stubborn little boy. I love my new home!
