The Girl has decided I'm a good candidate for Dogster's Naughtiest Dog contest. I'm not sure what I think about that. Seems kind of like I'm being penalized for being smart and savvy! Just look at her posting about asking for your vote....
Wondering where that new package of bagels that was stored in the cupboard went to? Wondering how rawhide chewies wound up in your lingerie drawer? Wondering why all your decorative pillows have been reorganized onto different items of furniture? Wondering why the skillet is still cooking on the stove but the food in it is all gone?
Wonder no more.....take a deep, calming breath and know that a certain Doberman by the name of Haley Amadeus is the culprit!
Now Harley needs your vote as World's Naughtiest Dog on Dogster.com!

An acquaintance of mine went on 2 retreats in the past week. The first retreat was an overnighter to work on a client's book. The second, to someone's ranch for what purpose I have no idea.
When I heard about the first retreat, I didn't think that much about it; the second one made me pause for consideration.
I could see something along the lines of, "Hey, we're going to a lake cabin to work on Michele's book," or "I'm off to Donna's ranch for some R&R".
When did any adventure outside the city limits start being classified as a "retreat"?
I suppose what struck a chord with me is that I've never heard of a biker going on a retreat. We have motorcycles...we don't need retreats! We get on the bike and embrace the aromas of spring wildflowers, we feel the temperature cool as the road takes us into a lower section, we strike up camaraderie in the most unusual of places like when a couple in their 80's approaches you at a country gas station to tell you about their biking days back in the 1950's!
Ditch the retreats...get a motorcycle!

It's that time of the season where The Girl just wants get on the bike and GO! The weather is spectacular and the wildflowers are coming out to bloom.
I keep hoping Papa will get a sidecar so that I can ride with them 'cause that would be so cool. We could ride through Colorado, the Black Hills of South Dakota (NOT during Sturgis Bike Week) and up through the Grand Tetons.

Oh I am so happy I can hardly stand it!
Today there was a blast announcing that, as of right now, I am the new Group Logo for the Deutsche Pinscher Living Room group on Dogster.
I feel like I'm having a Sally Field flash back...."You like me! You really like me!"
I wish I could visit everyone in person to play with squeaky toys and give out cookies!

My name is Harley Amadeus and I am a Doberman.
The Girl first saw me when I was only 1 week old and she could hold me in one hand. I had to stay with my mouthy siblings until I was old enough for The Girl to come back and take me for new adventures.
When that day arrived, I was so nervous because I didn't know what to expect. The first thing was that she got into this teal car (which I now know is called a Corvette) and drove us to this place where there was all of this activity and tons of people and dogs! It was the opening day of the first dog park in Dallas at White Rock Lake.
The Girl held me the entire time as we walked around but I was so overwhelmed by all the new sights and sounds. Then she took me to a pet store and picked out all sorts of things just for me! Squeaky toys, chewies, pull ropes and cookies!
I'd seen that my parents had pointy ears and I was horrified to learn that my ears would be cut to get that shape once I was a few weeks old. I was so dreading that! But SURPRISE!!!! my Girl didn't have my ears cut!!! She loves my natural floppy ears and kept them. These days when people say she was such a humanitarian to not cut them, she jokes that she wasn't...she was just lazy and didn't want to mess with the bandages! Whatever the reason, I am SO glad I have my natural ears.
The most important thing I want to share with you about The Girl is that she likes me so much, she even named an entire company after me, Banned Breed Productions. The Girl works in television/film/video production and happens to produce a couple TV shows about motorcycling. It hit her one day that bikers are a lot like Dobermans in that they are judged solely upon their appearance.
The Girl hates "banned breed legislation" because it's so unfair to ignore a dog's temperament, history and training and solely judge them based upon their breed.
The Girl and I have had lots of adventures and I will fill you in on them later.
