It's been a while

I haven't looked here in quite a while---because I really miss Owen. So does Annie Hall---she's become much more a people pussy since Owen has been gone.
But soon, she'll have a new dog to play with, and we'll have a new friend on Dogster! I've applied to adopt a boxer from Florida Boxer Rescue, and I've been approved. So now, it's just a matter of finding a boxer that will get along with Annie--not all of them do, and we don't want one that will snack on our pussy cat!
So, stand by dog friends, soon you'll be seeing Smike as a friend on this site!

Owen Meany (1992-2007)

I came home from a movie this afternoon, and found Owen lying in his usual place, on the rug in front of my dresser. But he didn't come running when I opened the door. He was dead--he didn't look like he suffered at all.
I buried him next to his favorite rose bush, wearing his I heart NY shirt and his red bow tie.
Gosh, I'm going to miss that little guy.

On the eve of Election Day

the big mid-term election is coming up tomorrow, and I hope all you dogs get out and vote. I've been a bit disappointed that none of the local candidates have asked me to campaign with them.
I mean, really, Katherine Harris has President Bush campaigning with her today, and they're probably two of the least popular people in the country. Yet I, a leading candidate for President in the next election, can't even get an appearance with Dick Cheney's hunting party!!
In any case, I really plan on kicking the campaign up a notch right after the mid-terms tomorrow. Maybe I'll ask Borat to run my campaign.

Autumnal

Yes folks, the weather, even here in warm ol' Florida, is beginning to change. Yesterday morning it was 60 something!!!! almost froze my little pads off!
I'm sure we'll get some more warm weather, but I'm looking forward to cooler days. I remember going out to piddle in the snow in Virginia---it was so funny! NO ONE in the house ever realized that I was writing messages in the snow to the squirrels!! They thought I was hilarious! And I was, because Maltese have a very refined and subtle sense of humor. Somewhere between Dorothy Parker and Robin Williams.
I hope this election gets over soon. People really write nasty things about their opponents! Once it's over though, then I will pitch my campaign for President into high gear. THEN you'll see some nasty ads!!!

I can't get that guy off the computer!

How is a dog supposed to run for President if he can't even get online to update his website? I am so glad that Dad is back to school. I get to sleep more, and now I can get online and let all my supporters know that I am still actively campaigning!
I was preparing some position papers on the issues facing the country, but, unfortunately, no one was home to take me for a walk, so I sorta piddled and pooped on them. So I'll have to get back to you on where I stand on the issues.
But I will say this, I am the dog you can trust to do what has to be done. I am truly a Reagan Republican in the tradition of Franklin Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy!! No one cares more the little man or the rich man than I do!!! I'm in favor of better education, less taxes, more roads, less war, bigger armies, more jails, and better lawyers to protect the innocent.
I promise never to say anything bad about my opponents; their Un-American records pretty much speak for themselves.
So, vote for Owen Meany--I'll take a bite out of crime and a bite out of Osama and a bite out of any food within reach.

It's my birfday!!!

Happy birfday to me!!
I am 14 years old today!! Hurray! I am such a lucky boy--the PhantomDadoo is so good to me. I just love living here---my sisters and Mamoo aren't bad either.
Some days, like today, even Annie Hall is okay.
I hope there aren't any plans for a big party. It's rainy outside, and I hate going for walks in the rain.

Well it has certainly been a while!!

Sorry I haven't updated lately----running for President has been a full time job. Between that and sleeping like a dog, I don't have a lot of time.
I've been getting lots of publicity lately---I'm featured on dogsinduds.com this month, looking good in my I Love NY tshirt. You can vote for me there, if you want.
Maybe you saw my interview with Dave Letterman? Things went well, until I had to put the bear back into his room. And the interview with Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes was just super. I think I handled the issue of my sexuality pretty well!!
Other good news, I had my yearly physical this week, and Dr. Brett gave me a clean bill of health. Not bad for 14 years old this summer. He says my vision may be going, but if that's true, I just don't see it.
Well, must get some rest, as I have a busy day tomorrow---It's Father's Day, after all. I'll have to take the Dadoo out for a walk!

Tampa Bay Baseball

Well, Sports Fans!! Seems that the local major league ball team is thinking about a name change.
I have a fabulous idea!! you know how all the stadiums and arenas are named after companies that buy rights to have their name on place?
Well, I'm going to have my Presidential campaign buy the team naming rights!!!
Next year!!! the Tampa Bay Meany's!
That will really jump start my campaign and get the ball rolling. And nobody likes to catch a rolling ball better than I do!!!!

The Dadoo has a new camera

And he loves taking pictures of me!!!! I can't really blame him. My new primary photo is me in the I heart NY sweatshirt that Twinkie gave me for Christmas. It's been chilly here lately. (of course, in Florida, chilly means 65 in the afternoon!!) So I wear it a lot.

The other new picture is me acting like I'm missing Dad and looking for him out the window. Aren't people silly? He thinks when I'm looking out the window I'm looking for him. I'm really scoping out the neighborhood bitches!!!

Well, things are going well with the campaign--keep talking me up!!!
