When I first joined my pack, we had a swimming pool. Chewie and I could only look at it through a mesh pool fence. Since we're more the desert type, we weren't too interested in the water anyway. One day, we were bored while mom and dad were at work, so I wiggled underneath and immediately ran for mom's heirloom tomato plants. Yum! Later, Dad blocked my escape route, so Chewie and I came up with another way through.... we ate a big hole and went underneath a little further down. ;)
After Dad's multiple inventive attempts to put up a blockade (empty containers, compost bin, wood logs), Chewie and I always found new ways to get to the other side of the yard. I mean, there were so many things to do over there... like run through a huge overgrown tomato garden so my belly turned green or tear open a giant bag of dirt (love that smell!) but I especially liked tossing and eating the gardening gloves. :D This was a great way to pass the time until mom got home from work.
Until earlier this month that is because suddenly we can't even go in the backyard at all! I keep pawing the curtains and Chewie does the same on the sliding glass doors, but mom and dad still wouldn't let us back there. Mom keeps telling me all the noise and guys back there are building a new yard for Chewie and me. She says there won't be any more pool... just lots of stamped concrete for us to sunbathe on and a nice section of flagstones with moss (so I don't dig it up - imagine that)! The picture of me running around is our first test run in the nearly complete backyard . What a blast since we only get walks on leashes as a break from being cooped up in the house for the last couple of weeks!
Baroo ya later when its done! ;)
