Arrival Story:
Kellie is our 2nd Border Collie. Our first, Brutus passed away at they young age of 10 from cancer. We missed him terribly, and loved the breed. He was a rough coat black and white, so while we wanted another, we wanted it to be different. So we found our little smooth coat, red female. First female dog for either of us!

A beautiful day!

Bad fur days!

Well, the week-end started out well enough. One of my admirers, Mark came over to play with me Saturday night. He even had me sit in his lap, and I'm no lap dog!
Well, anyway, on Sunday, my dad decided it was time for the Mid-Winter Bath. This is fine by me, because being all girl, I do love to smell nice and be fluffy, and don't mind the water at all. But it was really freezing, so after the bath, and after my mom towel dried me, we didn't go outside for our usual good brushing. I had to wait two days! I was so embarassed-my fur was just going every which way---what bad fur days! Finally last night I got a very nice brushing, thank you, and look like my usual beautiful self. My mom said I had sooo much loose fur, but I'm quite sleek now!

Snow! I hope I have enough fur left! :-)

Yay, we got some snow and I think I'll relax on the lawn with it on my belly today.
On Saturday, my mom gave me a really good backscratch--she called it brushing. Ahhhhhhhh. She said that because of the January thaw, I was blowing my coat. There was enough fur outside to re-fur my pal Vincenza!!
But as a diva--I do look gorgeous.
I had a busy week-end --there were these big white things on the pond in back with looong necks that mom called swans. I had to make sure they stayed there and didn't try to invade the house. Such hard work.
Because of the snow, mom is going into the closer office and so didn't have to leave at the really awful hour so we had a great frisbee throw in the snow this morning.
Life is good.

Rockin' New Years Eve!

Well, as I said the other day, I was having a party! It was a great one, too!
Mom and Dad's friend Dave and I played a lot of ball. Dave thought he could give me the BC "eye" back, but of course I won!
And the recent action photo of me having Pete throw my porpoise--well--of course I caught it, even if it looks like I'm going in the wrong direction there!

We had SOOO much fun! When mom finally got everything she needed put away at about 1:45, I was still out cold in my downstairs bed. Mom had to wake me to go upstairs. I admit, I was so tired that I felt like my back paws were dragging going upstairs! And I slept till 8am this morning--ME! Usually by then, we've played frisbee, had breakfast, and I've had a little nap on the bed on mom's side, cuddling next to Dad!

But after a great breakfast of not only the regular food, but some nice leftover beef, and some frisbee, I went out to say Happy New Year to Kelsey who lives next door. We had a loong bark.
