We knew we had to have him! His name was Jasper but we thought Big Papa would be more fitting. My dd age 10 picked his new name.

I was given my new home on 12-8-07 and I have been through a lot and without the love of my family, I could never have made it this far. I was in training for my CGC and Therapy Dogs International Test when I was diagnosed with HD.

I started limping on 10-18-08, when my family took me on a long two hour hike. It was so much fun, I didnt want to come home. Well my mom thought maybe I just pulled a muscle so after a week we went to see my favorite dr. They thought pulled muscle too, one week later with meds and I was still really sore and limping. They did xrays but didnt see anything, so I was given two more weeks of no play. Boy that was hard. During those two weeks, they had a surgeon look at my xrays and they said I had HD. Well mom takes me to surgeon right away.

Surgeon said HD was only borderline to mild so that is not why I was limping. They took more xrays of my knee this time. Still were not sure so two more weeks of no playing, and they gave me nasty meds again. Two weeks later, still limping some so I went back and they said no more play again. I tell you I thought my mom, my family, and I were going to go crazy. :)

Good news, I went back yesterday and they said I could play like a normal puppy again! I cant wait to play in the yard tonight with my soccer ball. They think I had a slight ACL tear but I am doing much better. Mom says we have to still be careful but I am so happy that she loved me enough to spend all that money making me feel better. She has been really good about making sure I didnt play but boy I gave her a run for her money! After all I am only 16 months old now. :)

My Happy Gotcha Day was about 10 days ago and I am so glad that my family found me at the rescue. I am looking forward to many happy years with them. I love my brothers and sisters. Of course I miss Ms. Helen, I only got to be with her for a month but she was very sweet to me.

Well that is all for now. Talk to you soon, I have to go get ready to play soccer with mom! :)

Love always,

Big Papa
