Arrival Story: I adopted Jake from the North Haven Shelter(CT). They cosponsered with the North Shore Animal League. This took place at the SubAccute Nursing home in Forestville, Ct. This took place during the summer. There were many dogs, but only 4 cats. Two females and 2 males. Jake and his brother Samson were dropped off at the North Haven shelter by a older couple who could no longer take care of them. Samson was known to be diabetic and so I took Jake. This took place in June 2005. Little did I know he would be diabetic also. Then things to a turn for the worse and I ended up in the hospital and then I nursing/rehab. home for 8 months. I got home in May 2006 and Jake came home the next.day. Little did I realize I would have a short time with him. Six months ago he was diognosed with Large Cell lymphoma. Age and the diabieties worked against him and he was put down 11/29/07.
Bio: He had his funny moments. For now reason that I can figure out, he would come flying out of the room added on to the diningroom. Jump up on to the club chair and scratch at the slipcover and then go flying up the stairs and let out a loud "MEOOOOOOOW" and then walk down the stairs as if nothing happened. When it came to his special food for his diabieties, he wanted his dry food. He would sit in front of his food bowl and look up at me with those green eyes and then look down at his empty bowl. This would go on for a few minutes with some meows thrown in. Eventualy he got his food and he would scarf it down. I only got to have one Christmas with him.
