The Countdown Begins

Not only is New Year's almost here but there's also only 10 days till Rex is here! Yep, that's right ... my boyfriend Rex is due to arrive on January 8th. Rex is the Brussels Griffon in the picture above ... the one I'm napping with ... with red hair and a silver face. Isn't he so CUUUUTE! Rex and I first met at the puppy auction and he would tell you it was love at first site but I needed to get to know him more before I knew I loved him.

Anywho, Christmas was realllly fun. I got a bunch of new toys and some treats that certainly tasted good but Mommy was told they weren't good for me so she had to get rid of them. She just got me more of my favorite treats so it was a good trade off. My Auntie Debbie got me some tasty treats too and they're good for my bones cause they have glucosomine and chondroiton in them. I got a really cool squeeky shoe and a portable water bowl too from Chelsea, Tyler, Derek, Jimmy & Charlene ... I only wish I could actually wear the shoe cause it's totally my style.

Oh yeah, you should see me running too. I can use my leg now and I swear it makes me go faster. When I run up the hill you can barely see me go by cause I'm so fast. I'm like a lightning bolt, for real.

Ok well, hope you have a great New Year's and ... bark at you next year! HAHA

Merry Christmas Everyone ;o)

Wow, I really like the taste of Christmas tree but I do wish it wasn't so sticky. I got sap on my face and Mommy had to snip snip some of my hair. Then she read you can use butter to take sap off and it worked so good thing she saw that. Not that it will matter now anyway because there's a big fence around the tree now and hard as I try, I just can't get at it.

My boo boo looks good and my stitches come out this Friday. My leg feels pretty good too. I've been running and walking on it and it's ok.

We've been buried in lots of snow here in Boston so I can't wait to feel better so I can really get out there and go on some adventures.

Briela's Surgery Went Great

Hello, this is Briela's Mommy and she had her hip surgery this morning. She was under for about 45 minutes and the surgeon said everything went great. He's happy with her attitude and personality and thinks she'll have a quick recovery. We just have to keep her comfy and pain free for a couple of weeks and we can actually start her physical therapy exercises as soon as she'll let us and for as much as she will.

She loves being outside, walking and exploring, so I bet she'll recover quickly.

Whoever Said Life Is Good Was Right!

Wow, what a time I've had over the last few days.

On Sunday, I got to meet Harry and Izzy. They are 2 of the most gorgeous Golden Retrievers I've ever seen in my short little life. And so FUN! They belong to Mommy's friend Catarina and we all took a big long walk on the bike path again. I tried to keep up with them but boy it was hard. We had a great day.

It is COLD here in Boston. Whew! I think Mommy's going to have to get me some booties because my little feet get so cold, even after only a couple minutes in the snow. That said, I DO LOVE THE SNOW! Not only is it fun to play in ... it's tastes delicious too!

My surgery is scheduled for Monday the 10th and I'm a little bit nervous but Mommy says it will be ok. Dr. McCarthy is from Tufts Veterinary School and has done many of these before. Mommy's also had this kind of surgery too and she said not to worry, she knows exactly what to do to make me feel better quick.

Ok well, doggie day care's been a blast and I just love my Chelsea. She and all her friends there really know how to make a girl feel loved.

What a week!

Boy am I tired today. Me and Mommy were at our friend Susan's until 10:30 last night! We had a very busy day at Mommy's work too ... everybody is so nice there. They all come over and give me hugs and kisses. I love going to work with Mommy.

Today we took a nice long walk around the neighborhood and stopped over to say hi to Bruce, my neighbor. OMG Bruce is huge. He's a yellow lab and looks like a linebacker for the Patriots. I love him though. He sits and lets me crawl all over him to give him kisses.

Now I'm just going to curl up in a ball for a nice nap in the sun.

Sarah called fromt he Affen Rescue. Looks like my surgery might be in 2 weeks ... can't wait till it's over.

Ok well, happy napping.

Gemini Was FUN!!!

Wow what a day yesterday. I had SO much fun at doggie daycare. So many dogs, so little time ... to play. :) I really had a great time. I was so exhausted that when Mommy picked me up at 3, all I did was sleep for like 4 hours.

Whew.

Today I'm home for the first day by myself. Wish me luck. Mommy left the TV on so I wouldn't get bored.

I think my surgery will be next week, not sure yet.

Getting Ready for Doggie Day Care with Chelsea

So, today, I got to go see my new day care center. It is awesome! My Auntie Chelsea works there and I'm going to be there with her on the days she works. My cousin Tucker (the huskey) is there too so we get to hang out. I mean, who'd a thunk ... how could life get any better?

And yesterday, me and Mommy took a big long walk on the bike path with Tucker and his Mommy and my Uncle Tyler. The kids were on their bikes and we just had a great walk. I think we did about 3 miles but I wanted to do more!

I think my surgery will be soon. We just have to wait to hear back from the surgeon on a date. Boy will I be glad when that's over.

Ok well, I'm getting ready for my nap. Just had a snack and a romp with my new penguin toy so I'm beat.

I'm Settling In

Whew am I glad the holiday is over. I'm tired but catching up on all my sleep. I got to meet my new cousins Meemee and Oliver which was fun. They're great ... can't wait till Mommy says we can have a sleepover.

Things are going great and I really love my house. It has this big room that I do laps in to get my exercise in. It's cool. The floors are a little slippery cause they're wood but I still get it going on them.

Not sure when I'll have my surgery but I'll be glad when it's over. My adoption agency is so great. Mommy says they have gracefully accepted full responsibility for getting my hip fixed because they love me and want to be sure I'm healthy and strong for my new family. I love them and we will always be friends for ever and ever and ever. They're my Guardian Angels. Thanks Sarah and Valerie and Affen Rescue.

Ok well, gotta go take another nap and rest up for my next run.

Happy Thanksgiving

Wow, we have been SOOOO busy these last few days. I got some good news yesterday from my Doctor about my hip. They say I should definitely have surgery to fix it and because I always want to use my left leg that is really gonna help me after I have the surgery. So, not sure when but I hope it's soon so I can just get it over with.

I'm so excited. I met my new pals in the neighborhood a few times, Sophie and Sydney (they're pugs), and they're a blast to play with in my yard. Mommy's friend is bringing Tallulah (a mini Dachsund) over for a play date this week too. I think I'm gonna like her. She's wicked cute.

Mommy got me my new seat belt today and a pretty little dress to wear for Thanksgiving. My main colors are purple and black, but I also have some green and yellow too. I'm starting to like shopping now ... :o)

Tonight I get to sleep in my new sister Sarra's and I just LOVE her. Sarra has the most beautiful eyes. I just stare at them all the time. Tomorrow night, I get to sleep in Ryan's room and we'll have fun. He picked me out some really awesome toys today.

Good News/Bad News

Well, the good news is that I went to see my new Doctor today and she was so nice. The cold steel table made me nervous but she was very sweet and told me a story about when she first got our of school, 2 of her first patients were a little Affen like me and his brother the Bouvier de Flanders. She said Affens had stolen her heart from them on. So I think I put on a little weight ... probably about 4 oz so I'm up to 4lbs 8oz. I think it's muscle mass cause Mommy's been make me work out.

The bad news is, we found out that there is something wrong with my left hip. Mommy and Daddy knew something was wrong with my gate so they had my vett take some x-rays and apparently when I was in that dreadful puppy farm, I broke it and when it healed, it twisted in the socket and that's why I walk a little funny. Mommy says, who cares if I walk funny. She used to walk funny too for a long time cause she broke her right hip when she was a little girl in a horse back riding accident. Daddy thinks it's no coincidence that I ended up with them cause I sort of walk like Mommy used to before she had her hip replaced. Daddy's funny ... :o).

Anywho, I think it must be the Dog Gods looking out for me and who brough Mommy and Daddy to me. ;o)

I'll check back and let you know what we find out.
