Dogs are people with short legs and a wagging tail.

Hmmm, something is different. I can't quite put my paw on- it.

Well Last Tuesday (4/8) I went to the Dr. and was therefore what felt like an eternity. In dog years, this could every well be one. I came out with a big cone on my head and a stylish blue bandage on my leg. I know something is different because I keep feeling something tingly under my bottom but I can't SEE or REACH and it's driving me INSANE!

My best friend in the whole world Cujo was telling me that I was neutered, then rolled over laughing. He told me that I don't have a pee-pee anymore. When he said that I jumped up and screamed out WAIT - I DON'T HAVE A WHAT? Then threw myself on the ground rolling over trying to see. No matter what position I was in, I could not get to mt bottom and kept bumping into walls and chairs while Cujo just sat there NOT HELPING ME. Once I calmed down Cujo said that it was something he had too when he was a younger like me. I started to accept this but when I told my mom she told me I still had a pee pee but that I was neutered because she doesn't want to be a grandma just yet.

Well I guess I will just have to wait until this cone comes off to see what the heck is going on. Sigh.... where are my pain meds!

Tackling one new discovery at a time!

Well... each day that goes by I am learining to adjust to the world. I am learning about new people, places, things... however something perplexed me today. It still has me confused. Today mommy went out and I took a nap. WHen she came home and I got up I awoke to a big box on the stairs. I barked at it for hours to get a reaction. What is it? Another baby gate? I then heard my mommy talking to someone saying that I was scared of a box of bulk tissues. What do you mean scared? I was simply explaining to it that I was boss and not to mess with me!... For 4 hours. OK, it was 4 and a half hours... but in any event. I think I made my point as it has stayed still on the stairs and hasn't responded to me.

Today I discovered what a phone is. Mommy put it on the floor and then I heard Cujo and his mommy talking in it. I started kissing it like crazy and hoping up and down and rolling all over the place asking them to come out. I;m not sure how they all fit inside that thing, but mommy told me to talk into the ophone, so I barked. Cujo cried... see? He misses me. That sap!

Anyway - I am wondering what I will discover tomorrow! I have had my eye on that thing mommy points at the big box with the people and voices inside of it all day today. I may just try to get to that tomorrow and figure what it is she is doing holding it in the air. Hmm.

HELLO WORLD! I'm ready to play! Who's In?

Boy Oh Boy OH BOY! I can't believe it! My first Diary!

Hello Everyone! My name is Gus-Gus.

Where do I start? I guess the best place to start is at the very beginning....

It all started wayyyy back, 7 days ago. One minute I meet (my now bestest friend) Cujo then suddenly I find myself named after a fat little mouse from the movie Cinderella and living it up with more toys, beds and treats than I have ever seen! I will be 3 months old tomorrow. I'm almost a big Boy like Cujo.

Cujo told me that in order to 'make my pawprint' in the beginning I need to have a page so I can write to you about grwoing up. Hmmph. I would have said just stand in some mud then walk on the clean floor, but he knows best so I'm giving this a try.

I've done a lot the past 7 days... Hmm... let's see. I learned how to climb stairs (but can't seem to figure how to work my way down them yet), bark, sit, steal treats, wrestle, play with toys, tug-o-war, took my first bath, walk on a leash, do potty on the grass...and go to bed on my own. Well, I have to be honest. My whole 'new' life so far has been great! I love my new home, I love my new mommy and I have a big family! Lots of Maltese cousins, one Jack Russel cousin and a lot of people family.

I have learned a few other things about myself as well:
1. Don't pee pee and poo poo in my crate. It only makes my tushy wet and I get stinky. If I get stinky my family is going to wash me. so HOLD IT IN!
2. Embrace my crate... it's home base. Tired? Go to home base. Sacred? Go to home base. Stealing something from Cujo or my mommy, go to home base.
3. My teeth are my weapons! My motto "I Bite you". My new mommy and sister call me 'Gremlin'. Especially since I like to growl and try to bite them like crazy when I do. They haven't seen nothing yet! Wait until my big boy teeth come in!
4. Sour Apple will not work with me. I like sour apples. Maybe if they had fig flavor... then mayyybe it would work.
5. I like toys that are bigger than me. The bigger the better - I will attack them and hop up and down like a boxer who just won a match by KO.
6. I have the strength of a great dane! I can drag my bed, rugs, blankets and anything mobile across a room to my crate. Yes, I'm a bit of hoarder.
7. I like Light Music. It puts me to sleep and eases my stress. Because I have lots of stress. :)

Well that is it for now I guess.

I'm off to cause some more trouble!
Grrrr,
Gus-Gus
