Hey, it’s Jenna here. Living up my life as a service pup. It’s summer time and I go out with my girl several times a week. Other than for having to keep on my Ruffwear Griptrex boots for the hot pavement, what pup could ask for me? Movies, McDonald’s playlands, Target and BJ’s and Walmart. About the only place mom leaves me at home for, is the pool. She knows she could bring me, but she hasn’t.
Anyway, as if all those outings weren’t enough, mom signed me up for that Proportions Whole Foods Challenge, and all I can say is (if I could speak) ‘Wait for it, wait for it.’ My mom always makes me hold a down stay for a few minutes before releasing me to eat. Those few minutes, the food is just inches from me in MY bowl. How cruel is that! Not to mention, it’s not normal kibble, it’s this chicken pumpkin stuff ontop and mixed into my kibble! I don’t mean just a spoonful either, it’s probably a cup or more of ‘ooo its so good’ and it smells so good too. There’s more of that stuff in the meal than kibble! The kibble is fine, it’s Wellness CORE that I’ve been eating for a while, but this stuff on top of it. I’m glad I’m not a wet mouthed dog cause I’d be drooling like no tomorrow and how unlady like is that? Mom is glad it came over the summer, cause I tend to work more, but eat less over the summer months, so I shed a lb or two (have to keep my girlish figure). I lick the bowl clean with the Proportions, but mom still insists and tossing it into the dishwasher with the kids cereal bowls or the dinner plates in the evening.

Wow, this is new. Blogging for my daughter's 4 legged companion. The world at large has probably never heard of Jenna, and so for the benefit of those who my stumble upon this blog, allow me to introduce you.
Jenna was found tied to a cart return as a 8 to 12 week old puppy outside of a store where I worked at. I brought the pup in (the store was petfriendly anyway), called on the intercom and went about my business. I wasn't there to work, just to run in and pick up a few things I needed. After waiting about 45 minutes, we confirmed what we knew, poor little girl was abandoned. I took her home with the intention of fostering her till we found her forever home. Of course, my husband named her and any animal he names, we keep. (I wanted to name her Avalon, but nope, he chose Jenna but since that meant we keep her, I didn't argue).
After a few months, I got to know the family and they got to know me. They started having this idea that I could be a service pup for their daughter. After about a year and a half of training, they said yep, I'm a service pup! Now I go everywhere. Mom thinks its cool, cause for example, we went to the 4th of July celebration at Ft Bragg NC last weekend. Crowds were no problem, ignoring dropped bits of chicken salad and watermellon was no problem (though I did lick my girl's and her little brother's fingers after they were done), cannon fire and fire works were no problem. However, people falling from the sky (parachutist from the Golden Knights), they were amazing. I watched them intently as if that was the weirdest thing ever.
I have a cool life and wouldn't change any of it unless it was the hot pavement. I suppose the only other really recent thing is mom signed me up for some of that Proportions stuff. We're excited to try it. We already use smart paks cause it makes it easy for my girl to feed me by herself. Anyway, suppose that's about all for now.
