Birthday: February 14th 2003 Likes: Being with his Mom Pet-Peeves: His sister Frankie when she makes him play Favorite Toy: Frankie has destroyed most of his toys Favorite Food: Dog food. He takes people food to be polite and then spits it out. Favorite Walk: Anywhere his Mom goes. Best Tricks: He can sit for treats. He will also shake hands, but usually only with his mom. Arrival Story: I saw Wellie's brother's picture on Petfinder and in the picture he looked kind of small, which was what I wanted, and he had red hair. Also, Lyon County only charged $20 to adopt a dog! My sister and I drove 50 miles to Silver Springs, Nevada, to see him. Wellie and his two brothers had been tied up and abandoned and were pretty hungry before they got rescued. The Animal Control officer said when she first saw the dogs she thought she was going to see some horrible animal mutilation because here were three normal looking dogs with no legs! But when she got up close, she realized they all had very very short legs (their mom was a Corgi). Wellie and his brother Red were Chow-Chow corgis and the third brother was a German Shepherd corgi. Red was very aloof and stand-offish and showed no interest in us, but Wellie seemed a little interested and he had scabs on his face, like maybe he had fought with his brothers over the last bit of food, and even though he was larger than I had anticipated, I decided to adopt him and have never been sorry since. Wellie doesn't have a black tongue but his brother Red does.
