Arrival Story:
Baxter was originally from a pound in Georgia, but a rescue group brought himto Virginia, so he could find a forever home. Baxter's parents wanted another dog to give a home to and to keep their other dog company. They frequented many resuce/shelter adoption events, as well as Petfinder. Baxter's mommy noticed him right away at a local event at PetCo. He looked just like a little black bear cub. However, they were originally looking for an older dog to adopt because they felt that they wouldn't have enough time to train. Fortunately for Baxter (and them), the dog that they were originally interested in wasn't too fond of small dogs. Once Baxter's mommy picked him up again, she couldn't put him down. They took him home that night to introduce him to his big brother and the rest is "pup"story.
Bio:
Baxter is quite a character!!! He likes to interact with other dogs and meet new people. He is very gentle with the neighborhood children and lies down automatically so that they can pet him. Baxter also likes going to the dog park. Because of the border collie in him, he usually tries up herd the other dogs at the park by running around in circles when he gets extremely excited.
He loves to wrestle/play with his older brother. Even though Baxter can be a brat to Mu-shu (i.e. stealing treats, pulling his tail), Baxter adores his older brother. He loves to follow Mu-shu around and do whatever his big brother does.
Baxter is only a puppy, but his parents have started him very early with training. He is clicker-trained and passed his puppy obedience class with flying colors. He is also currently attending agility classes. Baxter looks as if he always has a smile on his face and just likes to bring smiles on every face he meets!!! =)

Callie is my new friend. She is sleeping over at my house for a week. She is a boxer and is 8 months old (my age). Since she arrived last Saturday, we wrestle and play anytime we get a chance. I chase her... she chases me... I tackle her... she tackles me... I grab her leg... she grabs my leg... it's so much fun!!!
However, Mu-shu doesn't really join in. I think he's afraid he'll get crushed... either that or he doesn't want to get all drooly. Callie likes to drool a lot!!! My entire backside gets wet from all her slobber and then dries all crusty. I don't mind that much, but my parents are like "Ewwww..." When she leaves, I am definitely going to get a bath... not one of my most favorite things in the world. *sigh*
Today, we might go to the dog park after mommy and daddy get home from work. We had a blast there last Sunday. It was Callie's first time there, but she wasn't scared or overwhelmed. I showed her how much fun it is to round up the other dogs by running around in circles. Okay... nap time. Need to get rest up for later. =)

At the first crack of light, I am up. I don't see why mommy and daddy aren't as happy to be up before 6am. I guess they aren't morning people... either that or they don't look forward to work. I hear them complain about the office/traffic. I rather that they be home too... that way I can play with Mu-shu. When they are gone, he is allowed to run around the house while I get put in the crate. I think my parents think I'm too young to be trusted with free reign on the household. They are probably right.
Still, Mu-shu keeps me company in the basement. He likes to sleep on the couch by my crate. He likes to hide his treats in between the cushions. I note all the spots and grab them when I am able to. I think he's starting to suspect though. He's started to hide them under the couch lately. I'm too big to fit under there. Oh well...
