Arrival Story: Back when I was a professional groomer I used to groom a beautiful fully coated Maltese named Skipper and vowed to get my own Maltese someday "when I had time." When our only human son went off to college my husband and I decided it was time to add a Maltese to our canine family. We went to a breeder to pick up our puppy. Out came Leo (Leopold) a big, robust Maltese! Off in the distance I spotted a scrawny little bald puppy in a playpen all by himself. I asked the breeder about him and she said she didn't want to let him go yet because he was still too small and had recently blown his coat. We took Leo home and I continued to call the breeder to check on the tiny little puppy I couldn't forget about. She said he was getting bigger and healthier every day and I told her I wanted him!! So a month later she let us take Andrew home with us. By looking at him now you would never believe he was a scrawny little runt who had no hair! He is such a love and has added so much to our family. I couldn't imagine our lives without him!
Bio: Andrew is laid back, well socialized, obedient and a perfect companion. He is an exceptional therapy dog and has a keen ability to make people smile. He has both his AKC and UKC Companion Dog titles and his AKC Rally Excellent title. He was the highest scoring dog in trial at the annual Town and Country Kennel Club Show and was named the top Maltese in the U.S. Novice Rally Competition. He attends special training classes two to three times a week during show season in order to keep him challenged.
