Mommy's Mad At Me!

I got into a fight with Canela today. Millie, one of our kitty, threw up. Well, that Canela went right over and was about to eat it when I grabbed by the scuff of his neck. Then I felt someone grab my scuff. It was Mommy and she wasn't happy. She made me lie on my back. Ugggg..... I hate when she does that! It reminds me that she's the pack leader. I think Mommy is everyone's pack leader here! Even Daddy's! BOL! I tried to tell her what Canela was up to but she didn't want to hear it. I got sent out of the bedroom and she closed the door. Not fair! I was just doing my job watching over the other pups!

We Are In Soooo Much Trouble!

First of all, I didn't start the problem! I'll tell you who did. It was our kitty sister, Ladybug. She caught a birdie on our balcony and brought it inside. Yes, it was alive. Yes, it was screaming. The other two kitties, Panda Bear and Millie, wanted it as well. They tried to get it away from Ladybug. So I intervened and got them away from the birdie. I took it in my mouth but then Canela told me to drop it. So I threw it at Canela. Canela screamed, "Don't throw it at me!" He in turn threw it back. Saki just sat there, watching. At that moment, I heard Mommy screaming my name. She caught me with the birdie in my mouth. She got really hysterical and leaky. Daddy just told me to drop it and I did. I don't know what he did with it. I don't think I want to know! We're sorry, Mommy and Daddy. Honestly, we weren't trying to hurt it. We just didn't know what to do with it! Hey, did you want us to drop it on the bed while you were asleep?

I'm Famous!

My groomer, Susan, who is also a good friend of my pawrents, was at the famous Easter Parade today. She had a booth to advertise her business. Mommy was very excited because she was featuring me and my bros in her advertisements. Sure enough, on her table, was my before grooming and after grooming pictures. People walking by thought I looked terrific in my after picture. Mommy and Daddy thought so too. So my image is being used to promote a great business. Does that make me a model? Oh, yeah, Saki and Canela looked cute too!

I Don't Understand It!

In less than a month we have lost two good friends, Delilah and Bruno. Both fought incredible odds to finally find a loving, nuturing home. Then, they're gone! Puff! They crossed the Bridge. It doesn't seem fair that we pups and kitties have such short live spans. Sometimes, life is just not fair!

Home from Hawaii

I just got back from a cruise to Hawaii on C and D cruise line. I went for Benny and Dutchess' wedding. And, a beautiful wedding it was! It was a great vacation. I highly recommend taking one of their tours. The service was excellent and everything was planned beautifully. Right now, Canela is miffed at me. I thought it would be hysterical to bring one of those "My sister went to Hawaii..." T shirts for him. Geez, I thought he had a sense of humor. Wrong! Well, I hope to make it up to him. I hear C and D is planning a cruise to Mexico. If the dates work out, I'll take Saki and Canela with me. I know they'll have a great time!

Thank You, Daddy!

It's well known that Daddy and I have not always been the best of friends. Why? We both love Mommy! As a Chow, I bond very closely with one human. In my case, it's my mommy. You can say I have a jealous streak when it comes to Mommy!
Don't get me wrong. Daddy is a great guy. I have to admit he also has great taste. He picked Mommy! I just don't like sharing her with anyone. If I was a Lab or Golden, I'd be crazy about him.
However, over the years, we've developed a truce for Mommy's sake. I no longer bark at him or growl. I even allow him to walk me now. Hey, I felt sorry for the guy! It was pretty funny seeing this big tall, macho guy walking two little fou fou dogs! I have to agree that between the two of us, we do a great job of taking care of Mommy.
I knew that Mommy had been feeling ill most of the week. I also knew before anyone else, including Daddy, that something was seriously wrong with her yesterday. This is the frustrating part of being a dog! You can't tell the humans something is wrong! So I whimpered. I tried to jump on the bed. I stood over her and gave her that growl that she thinks is so funny. It's not funny, Mommy! I'm trying to tell you something!
She kept coughing and coughing. I heard her say to Daddy over the phone that if she wasn't better by Friday, she would go back to the doctor. Daddy insisted that she call her doctor right away. She laughed and said it might be hours before he called back. Eventually she agreed and made that call. So we waited and waited. By the time Daddy came home, he still hadn't called. Mommy was really coughing away and making that strange wheezing sound. Mommy kept insisting that she would be fine and could wait until morning. Daddy put his foot down and said she was going to Urgent Care now. I barked my approval and gave Mommy my sternest look. Outnumbered, she got dressed and went.
It's a good thing she went! She was having an asthma attack. If she hadn't gone when she did, she would have probably landed in the ER that night. Although asthma is a common illness, it still can be a deadly one.
I want to tell Daddy, "Thank you!" If you weren't around, Mommy would have waited until it was too late. I'm so glad you're in our lives! I love you, Daddy!

I Know a Secret!

Oh, Mommy has been so naughty! Daddy left this morning to watch a soccer game. Football, as the Brits call it. She was in bed, lounging around, catching up with her email on the laptop when Canela came up to her and begged to get on the bed. He hasn't done this since he hurt his back. Now, Canela is not allowed on furniture any more because of his back. That's what our pawrents agreed to do. So what did Mommy do? That's right! Canela got to snuggle with Mommy in bed! She was fawning all over him, even allowing him to lay across her while she typed his diary entry. Now, before anyone gets upset with Mommy for not following the rules, she followed the vet's directions on how to lift Canela up and down. She watched him like a hawk. As soon as he was ready to get off, Mommy lifted him off the bed. I wonder if Mommy is going to tell Daddy? Hmmm..... Maybe......Not!

Happy New Year!

We had a quiet New Year. Canela spent all the time in the crate. He's doing so well! The doctor says he can now be out of his crate. We hope he'll be able to join us in our walks soon. Saki and I got free rein of the house. Mommy and Daddy went on their cruise. They were gone for almost two weeks. We had our wonderful petsitter taking care of us. We love having her here when our pawrents are away. Our pawrents are home now. They've gone back to work this week. So life is back to normal again. It good to have my mommy home! Oh, yeah, Daddy too!

I'm Sorry, Canela!

My little furbro, Canela, is ill. The vet thinks he has a slipped disk. Mommy and Daddy are taking him to a specialist tomorrow. I feel terrible! I'm always teasing Canela. He's such a silly, fou-fou puppy! Now, he's hurt and has to be crated. I really do love my silly bro! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

I want my mommy!

Daddy is taking Mommy on a cruise to the Caribbean the day after Christmas. She's been working so hard and her job is so stressful! She runs a big elementary school and it's tough work. I know she deserves a break but I'm going to miss my mommy! I finally got used to Daddy. I don't mind if he takes a trip. Like all Chows, I bonded with one human and that's my mommy! We will be well taken care of. Our friend, Susan, will come and take care of us while they're gone. She's fun, taking us for walks and giving us treats. Still, she's not my mommy! It's going to be a very long, long eleven days before I see my mommy!
