So daddy got his truck pulled out of the gulley but the snow chains were broken. The guy who pulled the truck out and snow plowed the our driveway told daddy not to attempt to drive the roads in our development without chains because we would not make it due to the ice. Daddy decided to go to town and buy new chains so he had to jerry-rig the broken ones in order to travel the 8 miles of icy roads in our development. The good news is that the chains held and the humans made it to the main road and then continued on to town (daddy stopped and removed the chains once he was on the main road).

Daddy bought a stronger pair of snow chains and when he went to put them on the truck AFTER he got back to our neighborhood which was 40+ miles away from where he bought the chains, low and behold, THEY DIDN'T FIT. Needless to say, daddy was not smiling and decided to see if he could drive the truck on the development roads without chains (can you see where this is headed)?

There is a steep hill right before you get to our property and daddy tried to drive the truck up it but it kept on sliding backwards and towards the culverts along the side of the road. Momma was holding on tightly and praying. The truck refused to go up the incline and momma told daddy that she was going to be very embarrassed if he had to call the guy who pulled his truck out this morning to come rescue us again.

Daddy tried to jerry-rig the broken chains once again but they were damaged beyond repair. After messing with the broken chains for more than one hour, he was forced to get the new chains that didn't fit onto the tires and jerry-rig them and this time the humans made it up the hill and home.

Now if this isn't enough bad luck, the day before it snowed a rock hit the front windshield and put a big ding in it. Daddy did buy some junk that he could have applied to the damage to stop it from spreading but he didn't get around to doing it. The following day the snows hit and the temperatures drop below freezing. When daddy removed the snow off the windshield he discovered the whole thing was now cracked from the passenger side all the way to the driver side. Now he is going to have to buy a new windshield.

It's apparent that the humans from California haven't a clue as to what to expect in New Mexico.

COCO.. you are having one big adventure in New Mexico . my mommy really had no idea that you could get that much snow out there.. wow.. !! stay warm , and tell mommy .. my mommy floods our laundry room too ! mopping up water is the pits and we don't have a drain to push the water down !

Mom has flooded our laundry room, but because it is on the main floor and therefore no floor drain, the water seeped down into the spare bedroom in the basement so they really had a mess. Your pawrents are having lots of adventures, but I hope things settle down for them soon.

I think you and Puff standing guard at home is a good place to be......You are having some nasty weather. Is ice there very common???????????? We think,Ice is the worst of all weather.......hugs,mazy

Readin' all your adventures makes me shiver.... I think I'll stay here in Big D. If it snows here, it usually melts pretty quick and everybuddy just stays home till it duz...
