Puffy and I have been more or less home bound since mother nature dumped 12" of snow here, so yesterday when the humans went to get the mail momma said we could ride there with them. The cluster mailboxes are 1.8 miles away from our property so into the truck we all went. Immediately the humans noted that the truck was sliding about due to the snow and ice but since they had snow chains in they proceeded to the mailbox without any real incidents. However on the trip back, just as daddy was about to pull up to where he usually parks, the truck slid and landed into a gully. Yup, we were stuck in the snow and the harder daddy tried to get the truck unstuck, the more he dug himself into the gully. We were lucky because we were home and no real damage occurred unless you want to count the two broken snow chains. As I type this there is a guy clearing out the snow from our driveway and he pulled the truck out of the gully.

Now if that isn't enough excitement for y'all, how about this...

We were all in bed last night: daddy was playing a computer game and momma was reading her NOOK when all of a sudden daddy jumped out of bed and hurried away. Momma didn't have a clue as to what was going on so she put down her NOOK and went looking for daddy. She found him standing in the flooded laundry room. Momma had put in load of laundry into the washing machine before she went to bed, but apparently the pipe that the water drains into from the washing machine had frozen thus creating a dam so all the water was flowing onto the laundry room floor (it was -6 degrees last night). So here the humans were in their jammies mopping up the excess water. One good thing was that daddy had installed a floor drain in the laundry room so all they had to do was push the water towards the drain.

Daddy is now trying to repair the snow chains so the humans can go to town and buy a snow blower - BOL, BOL. Puffy and I aren't going to go with them just in case daddy manages to get stuck in the snow again.

The humans have a lot to learn about living in New Mexico.

Hugs and kisses,

Coco Rose

Oh, my, you are having adventures! A snowblower is pawsome. Even better is a neighbor with a tractor that has a blade on it. Take it easy out there!
