Our neighbors next door were having a party in their back yard late this afternoon so of course Puffy and I had to go to the fence and BARK at everyone to let them know that we were watching them. We were having lots of fun until momma made us come back into the house. All we were doing was trying to get invited over - Sheesh, we never get to have any fun here.
Daddy called and told momma the builders got the framing done for the garage/workshop and now they are going to start on the bigger building. The plumber is supposed to come out one Monday and do whatever it is he needs to do before the concrete arrives late next week. Daddy said he is going to try to get a train ticket to come home so he can rent a U-haul and start taking some of our stuff to New Mexico. The problem is getting a train ticket is hard because they are booked in advance and he is afraid to reserve a seat on the train and then not be able to use it due to other responsibilities that he has going on at the property.
Momma went to three different swap meets today and didn't take us with her. In the past they used to allow dogs in but now there are signs posted at all entrences saying since food venders are regulated by the health department only certified service animals are allowed. I think they should get rid of the food vendors and have more pet friendly vendors instead. Anyhow, momma was looking for a nice cage for Arleenton since she will now become a house bunny because the weather in New Mexico is going to be way too cold for her to be outside. Anyhoodle, momma didn't find a cage at any of the swap meets so she ended up ordering a nice big one off the internet when she finally got home. Oh yeah, daddy told momma today that there are lots of bunnies running around in the New Mexico development. Maybe Arleenton will find a boyfriend - HeHeHe
Hugs and kisses and POTP to our pal Abby who is going for surgery on Monday: please send her lots of love and prayers.
There are lotsa bunnies runnin' round my neighborhood, too, Coco Rose... I wish I could chase 'em....
Yeah! fur things gettin goin for yur Daddy in NM!
We been readin 'bout the forest fires. Is it smoky there? Are the fires anywheres close?
I doubt if Arleenton would like one of them wild bunnies fur a furiend. They might give her fleas. :-0
I hope your Daddy can get a train ticket to come home to see you. I hope everything is going well with the new house. I think you should have been invited to the neighbor's party. How much fun can a party be without the dogs in the neighborhood?
DFB r wite, Coco Wose. Yu an' Puffy cooda beened da ennertainment at da pawty AN' da cween-up cwew :D
I r sendin' all kindza POtP to Abby an' hopin' eberyfing r gonna be ok ♥
Zoe, I don't think the fires are really close to where daddy is but I'm actully not very sure. Daddy says he can smell smoke but there have been a couple of controlled burns in the area so that might have been what he was smelling. I'm still not exactly sure how close to us the fires are. Since our property is surrounded by forrest and trees we could easily find ourself burnt our someday. The threat of fire was a big concern on momma's list of why they shouldn't buy that property but it is so beautiful and relaxing there that one just falls in love with the place. Daddy has been busy cutting off all the lower limbs and dead wood off all the trees on our property and all open fires have been banned so he can no longer light the fire ring to cook his hot dogs. The bad thing is that most of the land in the development is up for sale and not being taken care of therefore there is lots of land with dead, dry wood that would fuel a fire.
By the way Zoe, Arleenton is too old for a young stud anyways - BOL, BOL
Finley, playing tag with the bunnies is great fun. I don't know why momma won't let me play with Arleenton any more.
Demon, We hope daddy comes home soon also but he also needs to be visible in New Mexico or else the workers don't do any work. He said he is having a hard time with the train schedule because they are booked so far in advance and he isn't sure when he will actually be able to get away therefore he can't book a seat yet.
I was gonna ask about the fire, too. On the news they made it sound like the whole state is on fire, but they do that here, too!
We don't have bunnies here. :/
But we do have farmer's markets and flea markets and fairs where doggies are banned. It makes no sense, because they allow baby hoomans, and they are way germier than we are!
Hi Hershey, currently there is one huge fire burning which is made up of the big fire and a smaller fire that joined together. There were also several smaller fires that erupted but were put out before they did major damage. Last year around this time it was Arizona and a small part of New Mexico that burned. It's scary that someday it might be our property that burns but it is a risk one takes when they live in or surrounded by national forest. Arizona and New Mexico have lots and lots of National forest that snake through their states therefore this type of thing is not uncommon. I did notice that Arizona has started to thin out some of their forests which is a good thing: hopefully New Mexico will learn from what is happening and do the same thing.
Last year momma took Puffy and me to one of the swap meets she went to and pushed us in our stroller. No one said anything except for how cute we were - BOL, BOL. This year there were signs posted saying DOGS were not allowed - I wonder if that means momma can take Simba Blue because they didn't say anything about cats, horses, cows, snakes, etc...
