Arrival Story:
Precious beautiful Sparkle Plenty has gone now. January 15, 2008, 9:15 am EST. She is missed desperately and deeply mourned. Sparkle was adopted through the tri-county collie rescue. Bred for show, she lacked the conformation for it. I happened to call them at just the right time!!!

Bio:
Sparkle suffers from thrombocytopenia, an autoimmune disease that is most likely terminal. At present, she holds her own with daily medication. She is less active than she was prior to diagnosis and treatment, but has good quality of life. Oh, and Sparkle is the sweetest dog of all. ;)

Poor Patches, she's too small to understand. Me, I'm bigger, and I've been around in this human's world a lot longer, so I know what's up (even if I pretend not to care most of the time.)

I did my best to keep mom awake last night, getting her up every couple of hours to go out, (of course little P. had to tag along every time, though she had NO IDEA why we were going out so many times in the nighttime. She did join in the chorus at midnight though and welcomed the new year with some nice loud barking to go with the firecrackers and ??? that were ringing it in outside). Mom just opened an eye and looked confused. *sigh* Maybe next year we'll manage to keep her awake to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new.

A wish for a happy and healthy 2006 to all the dogs on Dogster (and all the dogs who aren't)!
