Blue" has been missing since May 8, 2007. A year has now passed and although there have been a lot of sightings I think only a few of them have been Blue..

His last sighting was in March around the 8th.

It is with an incredible amount of sadness that I feel he will never return home.

I want to thank the hundreds of people that have helped to look for him or sent me words of encouragement. To list all of you would be impossible.

I am eternally grateful for the prayers and hours I know have been spent. The tears I have shed could fill an ocean.

In my heart there will always be a glimmer of hope.

No farewell words were spoken

No time to say Goodbye

You were gone before we knew

Only God knows why

I miss you Dad

Today is one year since they last saw you
your kids are now born Dad and all we know is your name is BLUE

Sure they have told us stories of your lead dog days
how you would jump and run through agility courses
and all your stuborn ways

I saw grandma not too long ago, you remember she is your mom
with tears in her eyes as she looked in mine and said I was just like you
"handsome" she said "whiney and sweet"...whinning because she was touching my feet!

It is Blue's mom Sharon
I am a little behind in getting this to you. but there was another sighting at Clyde road west of Hickory Ridge Road in Hartland Township.. it was just before midnight on March 7 the JRT that live at the home began to bark and when the owner looked out he saw a black and white husky near the house the dog peed on his truck. when they opened the door he took off. they followed his tracks for a while he was heading west on Clyde road... the man said he wasn't sure if it was Blue because he seemed smaller.. which reminds me to tell people that Blue is not a big dog 22 inches tall and 50 pounds when he went missing.... I am sure he is less than 50 now.. it has been a tough winter..

I receive pawmails daily asking how the search for Blue has been going.

I know Sharon still goes out and searches the area which she feels Blue
may be and checks out all leads.

There have not been any sightings for some time. But Hope and Faith
still run strong, at least they do for me and for Zeke.

Someday my lit'l man will meet his dad....I just feel it.

WOLVES need our HELP ~ lets make this year SAFE for them!

Care Again is a non profit organization which raises wolves, performs wolf studies and in the past has offered outreach programs.

Zoning changes made it mandatory to relocate the wolves and time is running out due to lack of funding and helping hands. The wolves were moved to a pristine nature preserve backing into a national forest in Colorado. Presently volunteers are urgently needed to help finish building the fence to ensure the safety of the wolf pack. The materials are there with a single set of human hands trying to manage it alone, due to the weather and other duties like feeding and tending to the wolves, it has been nearly impossible to accomplish this important task.

Another possible sighting of Blue on 11/27/07.

A woman saw a Siberian Husky matching Blue's description around Demode and Reed roads, he was traveling with an Irish Setter.

Then the Husky was spotted alone at Mabley Hill road and Reed road.

today there was hope ~
A message received that a husky was picked up by Animal Control in
Howell Michigan. Friendly and Responding to Blue.......emails
sent fast and between many who wanted to find out if it was Blue or not.
All were states away from Michigan and unable to jump in the car and
find out themselves.
Blue's mom went and verified it was not him. The pup found was a husky mix
not Blue...but he was someones pet and hopefully he will be reunited with
his family.
Blue we are soooo close we know it ~ you are right there
We love you and we won't give up ......not on OUR BLUE !

BLUE UPDATE /REMINDER

Subject: Blue is still missing - quick reminder/update (Siberian Husky)
Blue, a black and white Siberian Husky (male, brown eyes, microchipped) has been missing since May 8, 2007. Blue escaped from his owner's house in Brighton, MI the night her father died. Over the months since Blue has disappeared, his owner has done everything she can think of to recover her beloved Siberian. Sharon has done all the obvious and logical things she could think of to find her dog. She has posted ads, distributed tens of thousands of flyers, created and hung hundreds of bright, eye catching posters, checked animal control facilities, humane shelters and rescue organizations. She has used live traps in areas where she had received tips about a sighting. She has accepted the help of many volunteers to go out and search in areas where there have been sightings. She has used scent dogs. She has tried unconventional methods, for example, enlisting the aid of hot air balloonists and power parachute pilots to search larger areas and she has spoken to numerous animal communicators. Almost 6 months later, Blue is still not home. It is getting more difficult to remain positive and optimistic as time goes on. The sightings have stopped over the past month. However, in spite of all this, Sharon has not yet given up on her dog. She wants to find him and bring him home. Whether to love him and continue with the activities they loved together (agility, sledding) or whether to cremate him and put his remains with others who have gone before him is the unknown, but she has not given up on bringing Blue home.

I just wanted to send this out as a reminder to those of you who have kept your eyes open for Blue to please continue checking. It has been awhile since I've sent anything out regarding Blue and I just don't want you to forget, just in case Blue shows up in your facility. Many people have contributed to a donation fund for the reward. The number is quite high (well over $1000) and I don't know if this will help or not, but I did want to make people aware a large reward is being offered.

I am not attaching a flyer or a picture to this email as I have been told that many people will not open an email with an attachment from an unknown address, however if anyone wants either a picture or the flyer, please email me and I will send one with the subject line: Blue - pictures/flyer attached.

where am I ......

Soon it will be 6 months since I was HOME.

I never thought that night would lead to this. I just wanted to find my mom.
She had to leave in such a hurry and I could tell something wasn't right...
I just wanted to make sure she was ok. Something had happened to my grandpa and I wanted to be there with my mom.

I couldn't find her and now she can't find me ....why can't I find my way home.

I think of home, mom, dad, my pups and my pack....they never leave my mind. I hope Rosebud and the puppies are all ok ..how many boys? how many girls? Do any look like me?

I also have Minnesota on my mind ...I feel someone or somepup there, who has never met me thinks of me often and carries my poster for all to see....pinecones
moose sheds and moose droppings come to mind for some very strange reason....

I hear howling in the night- howls from all over - prayers for me from
huskies and all breeds that I've never met. My heart is kept warm with
their howling. dogster prayers they keep me hopeful....

deer droppings and small prey have been my menu...never had to work this hard for my food before. Winter is in the air, I can smell it all around. Soon
my pack will be harnessing up ......I know my mom will cry when I'm not there.

I'm sure you were all aware of the missing dog Blue from various
posts on the internet.
I have been talking with Sharon (Sharon from this group, not Sharon
his owner) and we both feel that someone in the area has him and
decided to keep him. He is really a nice boy. We feel if we can get
reward high enough (no questions asked) and get the word out that
they may decide to hand him over, or if he is living in the woods,
we may get more people out looking for him hoping for a quick buck.
His owner is offering a large cash reward although I am not certain
of the actual amount.
Our kennel, Taja, is publicly pledging $100 to the person or group
who brings him home safely, no questions asked.
Sharon and I would like to start a campaign to raise other pledges
for Blue. Even $10 or $20 makes a difference. Your kennel name and
or personal name/group would be listed on my home page with your
pledge amount. You would not have to send any money to anyone unless
Blue is found and returned safely. We would need contact info, (Full
name, phone number, email addy) with your pledge amount. The contact
info won't be posted just your name/kennel and pledge amount. The
contact info is just so we can contact you if he is found.
Please consider how devastated you would be to lose one of your
furry kids and help us bring Blue back to his family. While we
genuinely appreciate all pledges, please only pledge what you will
be capable of donating if he is found 5 minutes after your pledge is
made. We don't want to cause Sharon more headaches with having to
answer where the reward money is if people fail to follow through.

LETTER FROM BLUE'S OWNER

"Blue" has been missing since May 8, 2007. Someone, somewhere HAS to know something about his whereabouts. He can't have vanished into thin air. I have done nothing but look for him for the last 12 weeks and I don't know where to turn anymore, so I'm begging for your help. There is a large cash reward for his safe return (NO QUESTIONS ASKED) or for information leading to his safe recovery. There are really only three possibilities. If you can help with any of these, please contact me asap (contact information below.)

1. Someone has him. Maybe they haven't seen the TV reports of the hot air balloon search. Maybe they are not in an area where the thousands of flyers have been distributed or have seen any of the posters around a 10-15 mile radius of Brighton Twp. It has been 12 weeks and after all, he could have gone much further than we think and someone could have taken him in as a stray. Maybe a long distance driver picked him up so that he wouldn't be hit by a car on the streets and he's not even in the area anymore.. Please email this notice to everyone you know, regardless of where they live. He could be in Montana or NY by now so please send this link to everyone in your email address book. Tell everyone you know about Blue. Even though his name is Blue, he does NOT have blue eyes. He is black and white and has brown eyes. He is microchipped, so anyone , anywhere can have a veterinarian scan for a microchip and even if he is halfway across the country, he can be identified. Please send this email to everyone in your address book, we need to get the word out in a much wider area than we have originally concentrated on and I really need your help to do so. Send it to everyone, even non dog people - please....

2. He could be dead. You might have hit him when he ran out on the street in front of you - that would not be your fault. Or if you're a farmer, he might have gone after your livestock and you shot him - you would be perfectly within your rights to do so. Even though I would be heartbroken, please let me know if either of these things have happened. It is better than wondering and worrying about him. I need closure. I need to bring his remains home so he and I can both finally be at peace. If either of these things have happened, please email me at codeblue@woofgang.com and let me know where he is so I can go and get him and bring him home.

3. He is still out there running loose. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is the case. He's a very smart dog and could probably figure out how to survive on his own. There have been so many sightings, and while we know some of the dogs were not him (we were able to track some down) we don't know about all of the sightings. There were plenty of sightings last week in the Hartland area and we know that the found female is not the same dog in the cell phone pictures and we know that another escaped dog is also not the same dog based on timing. If you see a Siberian Husky running loose and you think it could be him, please call me asap at 313-550-6095. Timing is everything - if you call me a day or two later, he won't be in the same area and I'll never track him down. If he is still running loose, he's probably not going to go to anyone, but will run and hide if you try to catch him, so the best thing to do is to call me immediately with a location so I can get out there or get one of the many wonderful volunteers who have been helping me, out to that location as quickly as possible. There are so many people who are helping me look for Blue. There has been so much spent in time and gas and $ for flyers and posters and ads and the hot air balloonists and power parachute pilots who donated their time and equipment - if you know anything about where Blue is, please, please let me know so I can thank everyone for helping me and not continue to make requests for help which will be fruitless. I need to get my boy back home, one way or another, I really need him home.
