Oh, No, Grooming Day!

Casey and I used to go to the groomer and we hated it! Then Mom decided she would try her hand at doing it. She got the equipment and has been doing it for a while now. Guess what, we still hate it! Mom says Casey has easy to cut hair, and mine not so easy. I've heard talk that some think I might have a poodle or bishon in my family tree. I do have little ringlets of tight curls on my legs.I think it's attractive and hides the fact I might be a bit bowlegged. On "grooming" day Mom cleans off her painting table and lays out the equipment. We saw that happen this morning and there's no where to hide!! After the cut comes the ear hair removal (ouch), and finally the bath. Shih Tzus are not "water" dogs! Seeing we are going to the vet for our checkup on Saturday, we'll have our nails done there. There better be some really good treats after our ordeal, REALLY GOOD!

Another Egg Shutout!

On Easter morning I was set. I'm a morning pup and my brother Casey is more of a slow starter, so I knew this year I would find the most eggs! I was off like a flash, but again Casey beat me to them. There were lots of plastic eggs with snacks inside. The Bunny must have been tired when he got to our place as the eggs were pretty much out in the open. As I ran to an egg, Casey would somehow get it first, get it open and get the treat. The few times I got there first, I couldn't figure out how to open it. After Casey got a few, Mom started to grab them away from him and put them into a basket. Later Mom gave me some that she opened for me. Casey called them "pity eggs", but I didn't care, I just like snacks. Wait 'til next year!

New Cousin

We got a new cousin last week! Our favorite aunt and uncle got us a 2 year old German Shepard cousin! We were hoping for something smaller, but they like the bigger guys. Our last 2 cousins went to the rainbow bridge in September and December. We haven't met him yet, but saw a photo. He only looks as big as my paw but probably will be bigger when he comes over to visit! We sent him an e-mail with our photo and he said we "looked delicious"! Now I hope that's German for "handsome", but Casey thinks he wants to "eat" us! I sure hope Casey is wrong. Casey always stands up to the cousins, but they can be scary, especially our cat cousin!

A Big Woof for the Packers!

Casey and I were really excited about the Super Bowl! In fact we are just getting over the SB party stupor now. We didn't have to wear cheeseheads (Mom couldn't find small ones), people were dropping snacks like crazy, and best of all our team won!!!! Before the SB we watched the Puppy Bowl and boy could those little guys run!! We are suggesting Mom make those little meatballs for the next SB party.(They roll right off people's plates.)

Oh boy, I can't get out! There's been a blizzard all night and big piles of snow all over. Mom forged a path out to the street so Casey could get out to the road, but I'm not going!!! I didn't know what a blizzard was, but now I know and I don't like it!! I don't like snow in general, but some piles are over Dad's head and the plow didn't make them, the wind did. No one is going anywhere! Mom put the emergency pee pads down in the hall for me, otherwise I just go right on the floor in front of the door.(This is frowned upon.) Hope the dumb groundhog doesn't see his shadow today, we NEED spring to come fast!!! I'm thinking the groundhog won't be able to get out either.

Love the Packers, but will NOT wear a cheesehead!

Mom, Dad, Casey and I are big Packer fans!!!! On game days Casey and I always wear our Packer bandanas. We each have two, one for home and one for road games. I really hate wearing anything, but I do it to back my team. Lately Mom has been looking for cheeseheads for us. The folks don't wear them, but think we would look cute. NO, NO, NO! I will bark my head off for my team, I will EAT cheese, but I refuse to WEAR cheese! Can't wait to see the Packers in the Super Bowl. I hope they WIN but without a wedge of cheese on my head!

Merry Christmas!! Santa Paws was here last night! Casey and I were in the bedroom with Mom when we heard bells jingle and a "ho-ho-ho". We started barking...LOUD! Then Mom said she thought Santa was here and opened the door. We didn't actually see him, but I think I caught a whiff of cookie breath. There were presents!! Casey and I started ripping off the wrapping paper. Not too tasty, and Dad grabbed it before we ate too much. Next year I'm suggesting Santa wrap them in meat. We each got two new toys, some packs of snacks, new bowls and new beds! Casey seems to think all the stuff is for him, but the folks helped me get my stuff. We got more snacks from our cousin Harley. What a nice Christmas!!!! Thanks Santa, Teddy

Dear Santa.......

Oh, There is so much to be excited about! I'm going high tech and e-mailing my letter to Santa this year!!! I think he'll appreciate the effort.
Dear Santa Paws, Hope you and Mrs. Paws are well. I've tried real hard this year to be good. My brother Casey hasn't been as good, but please bring him something too, or he will take mine. The tree came into our house yesterday and Mom said if we pee on it you won't bring us anything. Is that true? Please let me know soon as it has gotten very cold and snowy out and it sure would be nice to have an indoor john. Casey and I would like some nice new squeaky toys. (I think two years ago we got our own old toys wrapped and regifted.) We might have been alittle bad that year. Please, Santa, NO CLOTHES! We are sure there are pups out there who like that kind of thing, but not us!! The hooded parkas you got us last year still fit fine. If there are those who need them more, please feel free to take ours with you. We discovered we LOVE sweet potatoes! Who knew? So anything sweet potato flavored would be nice. Please remember our cousin Guapo and our other pals who went to the Bridge this year and bring them something extra good. We'll leave you some nice cookies (look up high). Your friends, Teddy and Casey

WOW! I made it into a national calendar! It was just delievered!! I've been in 3 local calendars over the years, but now I'm nation-wide. It certainly took patience however. Mom sent in my photo in 2001 when I was just a pup. We even forgot about it. I'm May 2,2011 in the "Bad Dog" wall calendar and May 28, 2011 in the desk calendar!! Casey is soooooo jealous, he always thinks he's the "bad" one. I'm not sure when I'll be giving autopaws, but I'm cofident they will be calling any day to ask for my availability. I do look quite a bit younger(9 years, 63 dog years ago) , my hair longer and darker, but it is definitely ME. You can find me at your local bookstore or on Mom and Casey say that the fame is going to my head, but I'm trying to stay humble. (not)

My Birthday Month Party!!!!

Casey and I had our birthday month party on Sunday. Casey was 8 on the 12th and I'll be 12 on the 31st, although I don't look a day over 4. I still have that puppy pep and good looks, and I lost that extra pound of fluff. Casey was a little upset that everyone forgot his birthday on the 12th. There was no singing and hugging until the next day when Dad said,"ooops, we forgot". That will not happen to me!!! I am leaving hints every day leading up to mine. BC ( before Casey ) I had the day all to myself and it was on the 31st! Well, the party was fun. There were new beds and snacks!! We needed the beds as Casey ripped the stuffing out of BOTH of our old ones. Mom " fixed" them, but the were lumpy after that. Casey better leave my new one alone!!!! Because I lost my extra fluff, I got to eat all my special treats that day. I'll start my new diet next week.
