I've been losing my hearing for a while and now it's totally gone. I'm getting used to it and have found new ways to compensate. I used to hear my folks going to get snacks, now I lay in front of the refrigerator so I don't miss anything. The bad part is I do get hit with the door alot if they don't see me there, but it's a small price to pay for a good snack.
Mom and Dad used to say "no" alot, now I never hear that word! (or any word) When I pee on the bathroom floor, Mom used to yell and say "bad dog"! Now even though she looks mad, I'm sure she's saying "clever boy for using the bathroom", or "thanks for not bothering me to take you out", or "great, I had to scrub the floor anyway". I'm sure feeling good about making my mom so proud of me!
I'm not sure I'm loud enough when I bark now, so I really have to sound off and keep it up. If I barked too much before, they would tell me to stop. Now no one says stop so I don't. Maybe my barker doesn't work either. Mom does spray me with water sometimes when I think I'm barking. I don't know what that's all about, but I don't like it.
Losing hearing isn't so bad and Casey helps me alot so I don't miss out on things.

Glad Casey makes sure you don't miss anything - what a great bro!! Luv your peeing quips.
Oh, Teddy! I wish mom gave me such good compliments for using the bathroom! Glad you're still rolling in the treats, friend.
You're always looking on the bright side, Teddy - that's great! Mom says one of my predecessors was always terrified of the garbage truck and thunderstorms until he lost his hearing and then life because much less fearful for him. I'm glad your cloud has a silver lining, too. Stay well, best bud.
