I know Pit-bull Terriers have a bad reputation but not every dog can be labelled the same, please read the story of Bruce when you click on this link and please sign the petition.

Its been 4 weeks today since you had to go to Rainbow Bridge, I miss you so much, driving home tonight from work it was dark and cold and all I could think about was you, I miss not seeing you in my rear view mirror, every night driving home from work. Everywhere we went was an adventure to you, we drove to and from work 5 days a week every week and every time you were so excited you'd think it was your first time. I had the fire on tonight and I couldn't bring myself to sit on the floor as you weren't there to snuggle up with and all I could think of was your last night at home when we sat there cudded up. I know you are in a good place Milly free from pain and sickness but I am left here with so much pain and grief at losing the bestest friend anyone could ever ask for... I love you Milly, we will meet again at the bridge one day...

Tribute To A Best Friend

Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.

One of the most Precious things in my life...

To Milly

Did you know how very much I loved you?

You must have known, you knew by the way we cuddled at every opportunity, the way I took you everywhere with me, I missed you when we weren't together sometimes wishing you could answer the phone so I could call you just to say hi! The fuss I made of you when I had to go out without you...

Do you knowI still love you as much now as I ever did?

You must know that as nothing could ever break that bond between you and I, death is just a brief moment apart, it is not forever, You will be in my heart forever. The day we meet at the Bridge again will be one of the most amazing days ever...

Did you know I didn't abandon you when I left you at the vets on that Tuesday, that I left you there as I thought they'd make you better?

I visited you everyday you were there, those 2 days were the most painful of my life, , To see that quizical look in your eyes when I had to leave without you each evening tore me to pieces, you looked so poorly, I don'tknow if knowing you were going to leave me so soon and so suddenly would have made this heartache more bearable. You were such a clever girl I am sure you knew I had left you there for your own good... You were so poorly Milly and never showed any signs of your terrible illness until that Monday afternoon and even then no-one knew how ill you were. Even the vets thought you'd be fine. When I got that phone call at 9.47 am Thursday 30th August my word fell apart, I still haven't been able to piece it back together, you were my reason for dealing with each day, life has been so hard for so mnay years but you made it all worth it, my one bit of light at the end of a very dark tunnel! You made me laugh and feel so loved, I hope you felt all the love we had for you and still do....

I love you so very much Milly xxx

Milly loved posing for the camera, she would have a different pose everytime you pointed the camera at her, like any supermodelshe had her awkward days as well, for instance on Millys photo page (page 2) you will see one photo of her with her back to the camera looking out to sea, I had spent about 5/10 minutes trying to get a face shot of her but Milly was not in the mood, every time I took the photo she would look left, then right then left.... on it went until in the end she turned her back on me!! Other times you'd be tripping over her as she tried to get in every photo!

Today I have entered her in a couple of photo competitions through the forum, the Nature Pups one and the fantastic pup one... Fingers crossed, I think Milly deserves to win but its up to the judges...

Milly's Birthday

Today would have been Milly's 11th birthday. She's left this life for Rainbow Bridge 10 days ago... Had Milly still been with us we would have woken this morning and I would have sang Happy Birthday to her (I sang it in my head today anyway) Milly loved been sang to we used to change words in songs and put Milly's name in its place - have yo heard the song 'Hey Mickey' ? we used to sing (well I did!) "Hey Milly You're so fine" and she'd get all excited running around squeaking her baby (her squeaky ball). I imagine her now at Rainbow Bridge with her old friend Bod who passed away a few years ago and hopefully shes made lots of new friends there... After lots of fuss and having sang happy birthday to her Milly would have spent the day as usual being fussed and spoilt rotton!

Memories of Milly

Millys been gone a week today, The house has been so empty without her, in fact everywhere is empty without her she was such a character.... So many funny ways about her. Milly had a thing about fridge doors, it started at my parents, Dad used to save her some treats in the fridge, no matter what she was doing the minute that fridge door opened she'd come running from where ever she was and ist down waiting expectantly, if she wasn't given something from the fridge she'd give you such a look of disgust.
Another addiction she had was the cat biscuits, we always had to make sure when we were at my mom and dads that the cat food was picked up, sometimes Percy's (mom & Dads cat) biscuits were left down and Milly knew this was a no go zone but she just couldn't resist it sometimes, at first she'd wait until the kitchen was empty and sneak in there, then come trotting out clearly with something in her mouth but trying to hide it then she'd dive on her bed and quickly crunch away! She became such a crafty sneak at the biscuit theft that she was able to take the biscuits from right in front of you and you wouldn't even see her do it until she ran out crunching! She gave us so many hours of laughter, as My pain eases I intend on sharing more memories of My Precious friend through her diary so everyone who never had the pleasure of meeting her can see why she was so loved...

All Pets Go To Heaven By Anonymous

Can you imagine a heaven without pets?

There is a very special place where beloved pets go after they die. This is only a temporary location. But there are trees and grass and lakes, and everything they love. Here they can play and eat and sleep, even better than they did, before they died. Now, there are no aches or worries or dangers of any kind to trouble or threaten them. The only joy missing is their beloved human companion, you.
All health is restored completely, and all injuries are healed. Dogs and cats play with each other like youngsters, and they do not have time to feel lonely for you. They miss you, and with the special wisdom that animals have, they trust that this condition will get better. And they confidently wait as they frolic.
A wonderful day will come for each of them, when in the middle of playing they will suddenly feel something is different. And all their senses will be at the height of excitement and exuberance. They will sniff the air and look off in the distance where they recognize that dearly loved special presence. Then they will call out in elation, and with eyes shining and tail going wild, tear off at a full gallop, almost flying over the green grass.
Your expected arrival has been sensed, and now there is nothing that can keep the two of you apart, ever again. As you run toward each other the tears flow from your eyes. Your pet leaps into your arms, and you cling together in jubilant reunion. The joyous kisses are all over your face, and you kiss back, just as ecstatically. Your hands so lovingly caress once more the beloved fur, the head and neck and body you knew so well. And you look into each other’s loving eyes, and all those old, wonderful shared feelings are back, again.
And then something will call the both of you on, to a different field of warmth and nurture, where all the love you knew now comes to fruition. With your pet, you leave that special waiting area, walk into the main part of heaven, and begin a new existence there, together.
If you accept that pets can love us as much as we do them, then the logic is clear and cannot be denied. If you believe that there is a heaven for people, then they must be there, waiting for us, when we cross over. Heaven is love, and pets always share that with us.
