Birthday: July 14th 2007 Likes: Air conditioning!!! Pouncing on mom in the morning to wake her up, dragging mom and Dakota on our daily walks and sticking his head out the window on car rides! Pet-Peeves: The hot sun, he gets cranky when he's hot. Also, when the cat swipes him in the face...for some reason he hasn't quite learned to leave her alone :) He doesn't like being left, even though he's with Dakota, he howls and who knows for how long! Favorite Toy: Uhm, so yeah, we can't keep plush toys for more than a day or so, they get destroyed! He does better with big, giant rawhides and likes to toss them in the air and then pounce on them! Favorite Food: Finding a good all-around dry food for Marley has been a challenge because we think he has IBS. The newest food we are trying is AvoDerm. He loves most human food...oddly enough he likes apples, bananas, cantaloupe, broccoli and carrots! Favorite Walk: Marley doesn't like to walk...he would much rather run!!!! Best Tricks: Marley knows how to sit, give 5, give hugs and lay down but his best trick is running from you :) Arrival Story: Huskies Rule! I think my mom has that "Potato Chip" syndrome.....she & my dad had wanted another dog for a while, and wanted to adopt, but were worried about how my older sister, Dakota Rose, would accept an adult dog into her den. (she's been an only dog for a long time) It was a tricky transition that first week I was in my new home, but Dakota loves me now and we are inseparable! Bio: My registered name is Zero's Gnarly Marley because my fur-dad's name is Zero and my human-grandpa said I was pretty gnarly :) My fur-mom is Macey. She and my fur-dad are big, beautiful dogs and I come from Seppala racing lines. Forums Motto: Is that for me? Of course it is!!! Please take a moment of your time to read this important message:
Hoochie and Raley are two Siberian pals of mine who were brutally gunned down in Florida, shot 6 times at point blank range right in front of their owner, who was begging for the shooter to stop. Through the grace of God they are alive and on the mend, but could sure use some pals right about now.
You see, the police are stalling by not filing charges against the shooter, hoping the outrage will die down and then they can let it all just fade away. We need people to maintain pressure on the State Prosecutor so that will NOT happen.
Please consider signing the on line petition that has been started, in order to bring charges against this monster.
Also feel free to visit Hoochie's and Raley's MySpace page for frequent updates on their condition.
And finally, here is a page from the ASPCA's
on line community, with the names and addresses of people you can write to, to INSIST that justice is served.
That link also includes a link to a You Tube video, showing the shooting. Thankfully there was a tourist filming the whole thing. Beware - not for the faint of heart.
HI EVERYONE,

MY HUSBAND GOT A CALL AROUND 1:30 PM EST FROM A GUY IN THE NEIGHBORING COUNTY. I WAS OUT LOOKING AND DIDN'T HAVE CELL SERVICE SO HE CALLED CORY. CORY SAID HE ABOUT WRECKED HIS WORK TRUCK WHEN THE GUY SAID "I HAVE A HUSKY HERE, NAMED MARLEY"!!!!!

I GUESS AFTER 26 HOURS HE WAS TIRED CAUSE HE JUST WALKED RIGHT INTO A HOUSE THAT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION...OR MAYBE HE WAS LOOKING FOR HIS DADDY CAUSE HIS DADDY WORKED CONSTRUCTION HERE IN NC????
ANYWAY, HE ATE, DRANK LOTS OF WATER AND IS NOW SOUND ASLEEP.

GNARLY MARLEY, DAKOTA ROSE, hu-parents McClure and Cory
It's been a little over 14 hours now since you slipped away from me.
Just when I think I can’t cry anymore, I get on here and just start bawling. The response from everyone has been overwhelming. It makes me feel better to know that you are all out there thinking about and praying for my little man, Marley.
We are in a little place called Laurel Springs, NC, in the northwest corner of the state. The closest town is Jefferson/West Jefferson. Jefferson is about 15 miles, but it takes almost a half hour to drive there because of the windy mtn roads.
I just came in from being out driving around. It’s 2:00 am EST. There’s a full moon tonite, and it has dropped down into the 40’s a brisk wind is blowing. I had to turn the heat on in the car, driving around with the windows down!
Dakota Rose has done this to me before out here. She got away one time and was gone for a little over 24 hours. I worried and cried, but she is much older and wiser than Marley. She would never approach other people, she’s just not that kind of dog, but Marley would for sure. What if the people he approached thought, cool dog, he’s mine now?
He does have his obnoxious, reflective, bright orange collar on with his ID tag and rabies tag.
If he’s not around tomorrow morning (I’ll keep checking thru the nite cause I know I won’t sleep, but I don’t think I’ll sit outside because it is cold and my sleeping bag is in Colorado) I will call animal control in town and the local vets. I guess I then start with flyers as well.
I talked to my husband and he is a wreck too. He feels so helpless being so far away.
Marley is his first puppy, so as you can imagine, he’s our baby.
Oh, yeah, I’ve gone by our old house a couple times today. To be honest, we spend way more time here at the farm than we did at our house….with Marley’s dad gone to Colorado, I’m starting to wonder if he knows where home is anymore????
Marley please, please, please, please come home.......
