Hi all my furrends,
It has been a very long time since we have posted on our site. I think losing Ginger hit us a lot harder than we thought it might. Mom went through a really bad time, but things are better now. I don't know that I will post every day, but I would like to keep you posted on what is going on at the Badlands.
It has been a hot summer. Okay, it probably hasn't been any hotter than past summers, but as I get older, ha ha, I am 2.5 now, the heat just isn't much fun, especially with all that cold air in the house. Guess that makes me spoiled.
We still really enjoy mornings outside with mom.Yeah, she still hasn't found a job. She talks a lot to something she calls a book and calls it reading. I don't know what she is saying, but I can tell it makes her happy and that is all I care about. We still say our morning prayers and try to include anyone we know might need a special prayer or thought. I hope you are all doing well.
So this ball you see in my picture has become my nemesis. I HATE that ball. It squeeks so long and loud it hurts my ears. Usually I have all the say-so on the toys, cause I am the boss, I mean spoilt brat, but for some reason Sophie has taken ownership of this ball. I would have broken into pieces by now so the squeek would go away, but not Sophie! Oh no! Sophie has learned how to make it squeek, louder and longer. She fits it in her mouf and then gently squeeze so it goes WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and then when the ball fills back up with air it goes EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRR, over and over and over. Then she gets bored doing that and starts rolling on it. Yes, rolling on it, all 65 pounds of that blonde girl. Now I have to start barking at her to STOP. She just thinks it is funny and I bark louder. I don't know how mom takes it, but she does and she laughs about it. I don't get humans sometimes. If I were Sophie's human, I would tie her up and throw the ball away (hee hee, good thing I am just Sadie, hee hee).
Anyway, it was good to get back to writing today. I hope to hear from some of you. It has been too long and I am sure you have adventures you are just dying to tell me about. Have a wonderful day. Now go out there and do something nice for someone and make the world a little brighter.
Bark at ya later,
Sadie

Howdy all my furrends!
Hope you are all having a good day and looking forward to a great weekend. This is my first real diary post as “head-poster” in our family and though it has been a really ruff time, losing Ginger, I am really excited about getting to bark out the activities and stories. I hope to be able to fill Ginger’s red high-heels. Well, I will be wearing brown sneakers, but the stories will still be good!
Before I go on to stories, I just want to thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for all the pawmail, thoughts and prayers. Mom still cries a lot, but I think it helps that the rest of us are still here to keep her going.
Now, I have to tell you a funny thing about humans. Humans do the strangest thing when they are sad. Both of my humans went out yesterday and did some shopping, separately. Man, it was like Christmas at our house last night. I guess both of them bought us toys to help them with their grieving for Ginger. You shoulda seen them laughing at each other last night, when they realized what they had done. Hey, but we made out like bandits…. Get it, Bandits..The Badlands Crew, hee hee hee. We got treats and balls and rope toys, squeaky toys and bones. It was fun, but extremely stressful for me. I don’t like to share my toys and with this many new toys, I couldn’t keep up with all of them and the other three actually got to play with them..ggggggrrrrrrrr. Oh well, it kept me from tearing them all up right away, I guess, at least that is what mom said. We romped and had fun all night! Mom is posting a few pictures from this morning, so go take a look :)
Well, I guess that is about it for today. Ginger had a few traditions at the end of each of her entries. She always mentioned furrends who needed prayers and told us to do something nice for someone. I think I will keep the tradition, if that is okay with you all? We are praying today that all our furrends who have crossed over the Bridge have found each other and are best of friends and happy, very happy.
Now go on out there and do something nice for someone and make the world a little brighter!
Luv,
Sadie

Hi furrends,
I know most of you are used to having Ginger write to you and by now, you know Ginger has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Our family has had a very tuff day and have stayed pretty much to ourselves, but I wanted to thank each and everyone of our friends who have sent pawmail and notes of love and friendship. We cannot tell you how much it means to us that you all loved Ginger so much and became such a big part of her life these past few months. I promised Ginger that I would take over the diary for her and keep in touch with all of our friends and I will. Mom is taking it kinda hard, but I think that is to be expected. I also know she will be fine.
Anyway, thanks again for your love and kindness. I will be back in a day or so and will try to fill those giant red shoes Ginger left for me to fill.
Luv,
Sadie

Okay, I know, that isn't a big deal. We all have to have our shots every year, but Sophie and I both had to get our shots this week and I am here to declare I AM THE BEST! MUWAHAHAHA! She is a scaredy cat...uh er dog and I took it like a big girl. I wasn't scared. Soooo, she can make fun of me all she wants when I am scared in thunderstorms and fireworks, but I don't get scared at the Vet's office :)
A big doggey lick for eveyone!

Hey you guys!
Check out my new gangsta look. Mom took our Fourth of July photos this morning. It was pretty dramatic and mom was sweating by the time she got all five of us to sit still long enough to take a picture, BOL. Boy, she sure has patience.
It is too hot to go outside. I am like my mom, I love the air conditioner. Does that mean I am spoilt? BOL, I don't care.
Happy Forth of July eveyone!!
Luv,
Sadie

If a toy can pass the Sadie test, it is TUFF!!! BOL, but as you can see by the new pics my mom posted, no toy can! I love that my mom doesn't work. She gets to spend lots of time with me and my siblings, though I know she worries about it.
It was cooler today, if you can say that about Texas, so we got to play outside a lot today. That was fun. I like to hunt fer wabbits or mice or anything that moves. It is funny to watch all of us, cause when we think we hear something, you will see 4 big dogs bouncing through the pasture. Well, at least mom thinks it is funny.
Gotta go, think mom called us for dinner!

Hey all,
What is your favorite game? Mine is playing with this old soccer ball mom gave me a long time ago. The first thing I did with it was bust it, muwahahaha. Now it is just a piece of leather or whatever it is that I love to pick up and shake with with all my might in a figure eight, growling furociously.Watch out! To anyone close by me while I am playing this game. It is lots of fun and makes my mom laugh. She thinks I am silly.
Luv,
Sadie

Ever wonder and think about whether us dog dreams, or if we dream? My mom was watching my five brothers and sisters sleep the other night. It looked like we were each having our own dreams. My mouth and eyes were twitching, Jill was whimpering, Jack's feet were in running movement, Ginger's ears were moving as if to listen and Sophie's tail was wagging, thump, thump.
She wondered if each of these movements is an indicator of what we are dreaming? And if we dogs don't dream, what is the movement about? Mom personally chooses to believe we dream. She sure don't like to see us having, what looks to be a bad dream, so she always gently wakes us up from those. All of us are rescues andmom has no idea what we might have gone through before weI found her. Then even after we found her, it took a little while for us to settle in. She wonders if we remember where we came from and what we have been through or are the dreams our only subliminal reminders?
Mom says when she saw Sophie wagging her tail in her sleep, it gave her great hope that even dogs have happy dreams/memories. I dunno, what do you guys think?

D and I just moved from the Austin area to the Dallas area and bought a beautiful new home on 15 acres. The previous owners had a little dog that had been "dumped" in the country. When she had first started coming around, they said she was terribly skinny, so they fed her. They really didn't want to take her to a new house, so asked if I wanted her. Sadie and I bonded like no other dog and I ever have. She is extremely spoiled but has the most character and the best disposition. She loves to give hugs, play soccer, tear up stuffed animals and lay on her cat (Monkey).
