Arrival Story:
I met Wren at the Oakland SPCA, and she was not at all what I expected a Husky to be. When I imagined a Husky, I thought of a beautiful dog who was high energy, relatively aloof and stubborn, and who would have little interest in gaining and maintaining my companionship or approval. Wren was, by contrast, calm, easygoing, and a veritable social butterfly. I had heard her referred to as the "un-Husky", but having met very few besides my own, I'm not sure if she is, indeed, unusual, or if I merely had the wrong idea about the breed. Anyhow, short story shorter, I adopted her.

Wren has been diagnosed with juvanile cataracts which pretty much means she's young but has cataracts anyhow. They don't seem to affect her overmuch, although in low light she's more prone to running into objects than she should be. Despite this minor setback, she remains sweet and outgoing. She has earned her CGC, happily accepts attention from anyone willing to share some, and still retains that husky talent of being able to escape from virtually anywhere to run like the wind towards places unknown. Luckily, she's easily distracted by both flowers and people, so never gets very far before I find her again.
