Doggie Holiday Guidelines

1. Be especially patient with your humans during this time. They may appear to be more stressed-out than usual and they will appreciate long comforting dog leans.
2. They may come home with large bags of things they call gifts. Do not assume that all the gifts are yours.
3. Be tolerant if your humans put decorations on you. They seem to get some special kind of pleasure out of seeing how you look with fake antlers.
4. They may bring a large tree into the house and set it up in a prominent place and cover it with lights and decorations. Bizarre as this may seem to you, it is an important ritual for your humans, so there are some things you need to know:
- don't pee on the tree
- don't drink water in the container that holds the tree
- mind your tail when you are near the tree
- if there are packages under the tree, even ones that smell interesting or that have your name on them, don't rip them open
- don't chew on the cord that runs from the funny-looking hole in the wall to the tree
5. Your humans may occasionally invite lots of strangers to come visit during this season. These parties can be lots of fun, but they also call for some discretion on your part:
- not all strangers appreciate kisses and leans
- don't eat off the buffet table
- beg for goodies subtly
- be pleasant, even if unknowing strangers sit on your sofa
- don't drink out of glasses that are left within your reach
6. Likewise, your humans may take you visiting. Here your manners will also be important:
- observe all the rules in #4 for trees that may be in other people's houses. (4a is particularly important)
- respect the territory of other animals that may live in the house
- tolerate children
- turn on your charm big time
7. A big man with a white beard and a very loud laugh may emerge from your fireplace in the middle of the night. DON'T BITE HIM!!

A Whole New World

As I get bigger there's a whole new world to bet discovered. I've noticed things mom or dad have placed around the house I never noticed before. She hung a snowman up and there it was staring at me when I walked by. I wanted it so badly and I even told mom and dad it was on the wall. They wouldn't listen so I proceeded to climb the wall until I got yelled at. I've never climbed the wall before yet alone really used my back legs. Did you know I have back legs? How come everyone knows things I don't!?

Allergies

Friday I have to go see the allergist. The vet thinks I might be allergic to chicken but she doesn't think so. I eat chicken almost every meal and my skin allergies have been getting better as it gets colder. I hope they figure out what I am allergic too, hopefully it is just pollen and grass. I already don't get eggs since that was the first thing she elliminated from my diet. I am worried they will shave and prick me a million times. This is not going to be fun especially since it's a long drive.

So Bored

I got bored waiting for her to return. I usually pace by the window but the wood under the window looked really really fun to lick. Soon licking turned into chewing. Then I saw the corner of the china cabinent. I've only chewed wood when she left me for a few days but this time I just got bored. Now I am back in the crate when she is at work. I swear it won't happen again!

Fun weekend

She took me to the beach on base since it was so nice out. It was so much fun, I dont think my nose left the sand once!

Guess what?! I can put my head on the table. Now I can see what everyone is eating.

While you were out

I had some boredom and seperation issues when everyone was on work related travel. I thought it would be good to leave teeth marks on the table, coffee table and bed. She didn't agree with me.

Class

I've started obedience classes and it's a lot of work! All I want to do is play but she makes me sit quietly in one spot. All I do is sit or lay down and everytime I do one she makes me do the other. Can't she make up her mind?! It's a lot of work to get myself up and down all the time. The trainers said I need to work on doing these so called commands faster and apparently I'm not allowed to put the leash in my mouth anymore. They just don't get it. It takes a while for the signal to reach my legs and feet :)

She left me! how could she leave me? The suitcase took her away again. This sucks.
