Likes: Jessie loves to chase squirrels and in the winter, play in the snow.
Pet-Peeves: People who pity her because she limps. She also doesn't like houseflies!
Favorite Toy: She really has no favorite. It varies from day to day, but she has plenty to chose from and will take each one out of her toybox and bring it to you.
Favorite Food: Cheese.
Favorite Walk: Jessie loves to walk around our back yard and sniff each and every leaf.
Best Tricks: Laying on her side and putting her paw over her face when she wants to cuddle.
Arrival Story: I adopted Jessie through a local humane organization who had taken over her care when she was deliberately hit by a car in downtown Cleveland. Her back leg was so badly broken that the vet said it looked like someone hit a chicken bone with a hammer. Jessie was a local celebrity as one of our television stations went to the vet's office to film her and tell her story. That's where I saw her--on the six o'clock news. I knew immediately that I had to adopt her and rehabilitate her! Luckily, our family passed the screening process and I was allowed to adopt her. We'd had a rough year health wise, it seemed like Murphy's Law ruled our house that year. Jessie healed our hearts! She is a wonderful dog.
Bio: Jessie made many appearances for the humane organization who "saved" her. She was on television a few times and a reporter actually came to our home and filmed us with her as a follow-up to their story when she was hit.
