Arrival Story: The day my husband and I got back from our honeymoon we decided to go look at dogs. We went to the OKC shelter and found two adorable pups, but they were too young. We drove to the Moore shelter and it was closed. We almost gave up. But then we looked up a place called Pets and People. We walked about 7 dogs and none felt just right. Then, right as we were about to leave, one of the volunteers brought out this adorable little blonde Doxie mix. I fell in complete love immediately. It was his first day at the shelter so we had to wait 5 days to see if we would get him. In the meantime we got the apartment ready for him and even came up with a name. On day 5 I waited and waited for a phone call... and none came. So I called and...THE PLACE WAS CLOSED!!! I left a message for them that I was ready to pick him up if he was still there. I had come to terms with the fact that I would not get my baby. About 15 minutes after I left the message...THEY CALLED BACK. I jumped in the car and drove the 1 1/2 hr. drive to get him. He came home and immediately took over.
Hi everybody! I had a very bad day (and night) yesterday. So, Mom decided that I needed to get this thing called a microchip. It sounded alright, I mean who ever heard of a bad chip? I personally like them with queso! :) Anyway, when we got there the mean lady said she could go ahead and give me my last round of puppy shots and...CLIP MY TOENAILS!!! How horrible is that?!?! They took me in the back and did all that mean stuff. I cried like a big baby. (That's what Mom said.)
Well, later on Mama decided to go to Wal-Mart. When she got back I was crying and shaking really badly. I wouldn't let her touch me or anything. Mama was really scared because she knows that us Doxies are really sensitive to vaccines. So she called the mean lady and TOOK ME BACK! How cruel is that? The mean lady poked at me for a second and then gave me this little pill. It made me feel a little loopy, but oh-so-good! Mama said it's a pain pill. Bubba made fun of me all night. I couldn't help it! It hurt really bad! And I'm a sensitive fella. I get one more pill tonight, but I think I'll be fine. I've been running around and playing all morning with Bubba.
I'm glad the mean lady was able to make it better! Everyone, be careful with those shot things. And if someone promises you a microchip...IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK!
Hey everybody! Guess what!!! I finally got a brother. I was really sad when I found out that Tate wasn't going to come live with us, but Mommy promised to find me a brother soon. And she did!! His name is Oliver and he is WAY cool! He gets kind of annoying sometimes, because he always wants to cuddle when I want to fight! There is one really good thing! He is small, so I can beat him up pretty easy. And I guess the cuddling is okay too...sometimes. He eats too much though. A dog could starve with him around!
Check out his page! You might even see some pics of me there!
