Daddy spent the night downstairs with me again. He wants to be around in case I need to go outside, or throw up. I haven't thrown up since Thursday. The vet gave me an anti-throw up shot on Friday, and then 1 pill for four days to help too. I took the pill yesterday and today in a pill pocket.
But, I won't take the antibiotic. It is the most ginormous pill you have ever seen, and I'm not letting anybody open my mouth and throw that down my throat. All kinds of stuff have been tried, but it is so big you can't wrap a piece of ham or turkey around it. Believe me, it has been tried!
I did eat some boiled chicken and some ham pieces today, so I made Mawmee and Daddy happy.
This morning they were thinking that I might have to make my journey to the bridge. My breathing is so rapid - sort of like panting, but it is my breathing since my lungs are having problems.
After calling the vet AGAIN (she is gonna put us on her bad list - BOL!), Daddy told her how many breaths a minute I take, and of course, that increases quite a bit if I've been outside to go to the bathroom. She said that it is not too concerning to her, so that made them feel better.
She said to bring me in to the vet's office tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. and after she is out of surgery, she will do an ultrasound on me to determine if I have a tumor growing somewhere that didn't show up on the x-ray.
If it appears that I don't have any tumors, then it is most likely a fungal infection which is very difficult to treat in young and old dogs because of our immune systems.
If the vet can give me something to help me breathe better, then a treatment might be attempted if it is a fungal infection. If it is cancer, then a decision will have to be made.
Mawmee says I'm not ready for the bridge yet because I'm still very alert, and she says you can tell alot about how a dog feels by looking at their eyes, and my eyes are looking alive and good!
So, thanks again for the woofing and purring - keep it up, and help me pull through this setback so I can stay here for awhile longer.

Flicka Δ,,Δ & Lucas /..| & Pam X My kitty sisters asked that I stop by to leave their purrs and my woofs for you Rocky. We do hope something treatable is found so you can get back to the good life with Sugar!! Rocky,
Winston and I are woofin' for you to be okay! You have the best parents around who are sure to do everything they can to keep you healthy. Sending out lots a love your way!
Lily and Winston Hi Rocky, I'm Tyler's doggie brother Pooh. He asked me to stop by and give you some woofs of encouragement.
We're tired of that nasty C word in our house too! So getting back to the good "c" words and in particular, CHEESE, I take all my pills hidden inside a piece of cheese. Mum uses polly-o mozzarella sticks for me because she can dig out the middle and push the pill inside. If you pills are really big, maybe your mum could try hiding them in a cube of cheddar? Just a thought.
We're all purring and woofing for you over here in Coral Gables buddy. Stay strong! Love to your family.
Love,
Pooh
