Long time gone -

Wow - so its been a while. Things got real busy once Mom found out she was expecting - and then the baby came and well - 6 months later here I am. I am enjoying the new baby. She likes to pat my head, although she pats a little hard. We like to both take naps on Mom's tummy - which Mom says is uncomfortable for her. The new baby cries alot, but thats ok. At least if she's crying I know she's alive. Someday that thing they call a crib will go away and I'll get to sleep with her - Mom and Dad dont allow me on their bed, but I bet she will ;-).

Big news!!

So Mom and Dad have learned that we are expecting! I'm so excited! I'm going to have a human baby to play with come March! Mom says I have to be gentle and that she's going to put me to work. As long as I get to give the baths, I don't care! I LOVE BABIES!

Almost, but not quite ...

Mommy convinced daddy to let her taken in our neighbors Pit on a trial basis. She was really sweet and I LOVED having her in the house. Sometimes she would play with me, but overall it was just nice to have company while Mom and Dad are at work. Unfortunately, she started jumping the fence and Dad said she had to go. :-(. Mom and I are both upset about it. Dad says we can still get another dog, but that probably wont happen for a while. Wish she hadn't jumped that fence.

New friend ...

Mommy brought home a new dog on Sunday. A pretty little girl named Jayde. She's an American Pit with a brindled coat. She's been real shy this week, but she's fun to play with when she'll actually play with me. Last night we played hide and seek in the dark. She's hard to see because of her coat and the grass is so long. Mommy really needs to mow the lawn. Mommy says Jayde's being here is just a trial and if I want her to stay I have to be nice to her. I just want to play, but sometimes she doesn't want to play with me. She likes to be in Mom and Dad's laps too, which is a problem, because thats my spot ... so is the bed. Mommy says if I can learn to sleep on the bed without pushing her off, I can sleep up there too. HA! Like thats ever going to happen!

Christmas

It's official ... I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Mommy and Daddy bought me all sorts of new toys! I even got a new bed! I didnt like having to wait until this morning to get them ... I kept trying to sneak them from my stocking, but thankfully I didnt have to wait very long. I've already chewed apart one of my tennis balls, broke the other one in half, and chewed one of the squeaky fingers off my new rope. I got this cool new toy that looks like a jack and it bounces all over when I play with it, its lots of fun. I'm hoping mommy will give me some of the goodies from the food she's cooking ... but we'll see.

Don't try me when I'm tired ...

Yesterday Mommy took me on a car ride, which was fun. I like car rides. But then she gave the car to some people and we went for a walk ... a REALLY LONG walk ... I met all sorts of nice people and had to show Mommy just how well I could "Bang!" before she'd stop feeding my liver treats to the hawks. I was so tired by the time we finished our walk that I decided I had had enough of people oogling me and wanting to pet me. I growled at one guy and snapped at another. But the guy that I snapped at tried to pet me before I gave him permission. He didnt even let me sniff him before he tried putting his hand on my head. Then Mommy gave him my treats, so I had to be nice to him if I wanted them back. His little girl was real cute, though. I gave her all sorts of kisses. Then I barked at my neighbors when we got home. Mommy was not happy, but she was just as tired as I was, so I didnt get in as much trouble as I should have. She says my behavior has to stop though. Daddy is coming home tonight he's not going to be so nice if I act a fool while he's walking me. At least I'll be getting more walks than I have been ... Woof.

GOKIBURI!

I like bugs ... Mommy knows I like bugs ... I like to sniff at them ... sometimes I'll even pick them up in my mouth and roll them around with my tongue ... but I never kill or swallow on purpose. Tonight though, I found this BIG bug in the house ... BIG!! and I was playing with it when Mommy saw. She freaked when she saw it ... grabbed the green stuff and started spraying everywhere it touched. She was calling it a big *%$ nasty cockroach ... not sure what that is, but I'd like to see it again. Said she was going to get a kitty cat to kill the spiders and roaches that come in because I dont make a very good mouser. She says she's not sure why they are coming in ... everything, including my own food, is off the floor or tucked away in a bucket ... but she is going to call somebody to have them spray. She's thinking about sending me to a puppy sitter and roach bombing the place while she's at work ... not sure what that is, but it doesnt sound very nice.

Liver ... YUM!

So my pup pal Gwydion told my mommy about his liver treats and she made them for me ... they are the greatest! Mommy must love me alot to make those, because she hates the look, feel, and smell of liver. The first time she made them I liked the smell, but didnt know what she was doing so I sat in the kitchen doorway and watched. She complained about the smell and made funny faces the whole time ... said I had better like these treats or she was going to be upset. After she was through she let me lick the spatula and bowl ... something she NEVER lets me do. The stuff was so good I tried to eat the spatula ... but she wouldnt let me. She made them again tonight and I was right there ... waiting for that spatula and bowl! Right under her feet, but I was careful not to get stepped on! Now I'm waiting for them to cool so I can have some more! I like them so much I've learned how to play dead and role over just so I can have those treats! I wont play dead or roll over for a carrot, but I will for a liver treat!

Me and little kids ...

So my recent behavior has had Mommy a little worried about having kids with Daddy. She thinks that if I'm willing to get testy with her and strange dogs that I might do the same with a baby. But today we went on a nice long walk with a bunch of ladies from the neighborhood and they brought their babies with, one was using all four of his feet to walk around on the grass, the other one just sat there. Mommy kept a close eye on me, but as soon as the one that could crawl got close enough, I gave him the best bath he's ever had! Everyone laughed and he kept coming back for more, so I kept giving him more! Would have washed the other one too, but she never got close enough :-(. There was also a little girl with us who was barely bigger than me. I wanted to play with her, but Mommy wouldnt let me. Mommy think I would have knocked her over because she was running around, but she gave me lots of pets and loves while we walked, so I was happy with that. I still wasnt very nice to the little schnauzer that walked by, but Mommy is now comfortable with the idea of giving me a little human brother or sister when she and Daddy are ready. :-) I'm looking forward to the day that I'll have a little kid that I can bathe all I want and whenever I want!

I sure showed her ...

Mommy has been thinking about the possibility of leaving me out of my crate during the day while she is at work. Well, today she left me alone for about 20 min while she went and looked for the missing piece to my training collar (I hope she doesnt find it). I wanted to go with but she made me stay home, so I ate the rest of her lunch and the beef rib bones she was saving, but I was real careful! Usually I make a mess when I get into something I'm not suppose to have. I pull it off onto the floor, rip it to pieces and then eat it. But this time, I left the bowl and the chopping board right where they were ... I ate AROUND them ... and I left the bag of chips alone too because the last time I ate a bag of chips I got in trouble. She came home and thought I had stayed right by the door where she left me. Then she praised me for leaving the chips and stuff alone. Then she saw her lunch was gone, and I got in trouble for eating it. Then she saw the rib bones were gone, and I got in trouble for that too. *sighs* She told me that she was going to give me the rib bones anyway, after she had boiled them and that is was unacceptable that I had eaten them off the counter. Now there is no way she will let me stay out of my crate while she's gone during the day. :-(

New Toy :-)

Yea! Mommy, Mary, Cleo and I discovered frisbees tonight! We found one on the ground on our way to the dog park. At first I didnt want to play with the strange looking round thing. It doesnt bounce like my red ball and I just wanted Cleo to chase me around. But then I saw her playing with it and how much fun she was having, so I decided to give it a try. Mommy got really excited when I started catching it in the air. It kind of reminds me of the funny little flying bugs I find in the yard. I like to chase those, but they are hard to catch. The frisbee is much easier to catch in the air than a bug! Hopefully Mommy will get me my own frisbee, since Cleo got to keep the one Mary found. It would be fun to be able to catch it all the time and then show Daddy what I can do when he comes home!

Funny thing ...

Ok, so the other day my Daddy brings home these two orange bags full of little hard chewy things. Mommy put them with his bag because he left them sitting on the floor. I decided that I wanted to know what was in it, so I snuck one out of the house and was in the process of ripping the bag open when Mommy caught me. She sent Daddy out to take it away and punish me ... apparently I'm not suppose to have it. But you know what? It smelled so good that I went and stole the OTHER bag and took it outside. But this time I didnt lay in the grass and try to eat it right away. Instead, I dug myself a hole ... not a big one because I'm not suppose to dig holes ... and to make sure Mommy didn't know I was digging, I used my nose ;-). I put that bag of yummy stuff inside that hole and then went back inside like nothing had happened. Mommy made fun of my dirty nose, said I looked like I'd been routing around like a pig. HEHE ... well, I went back outside a little while later to check on my treasure and Mommy followed me out. I was in the process of covering my treasure with dried grass ... digging holes with your nose is hard work ... she was watching me wondering why I was scratching my face on the grass in such a weird way. Then she saw my treasure. :-( She didnt punish me right away ... instead she laughed and called Daddy outside to show him what I'd done. He laughed, then took away my treasure, told me candy isnt for dogs, and then Mommy punished me for stealing the candy AND digging the hole. Woof ... I can't get away with anything when Mommy's home! It probably would have worked if I had made the hole bigger. My treasure didn't quite fit in the hole like I would have liked. Now Mommy keeps a close eye on me while I'm outside. Says she doesnt want any more holes in her already hard to mow lawn.

Food, food, food ...

So, I've decided that I dont like the stuff Mommy has been puting in my morning meal. She says she does it because its easier than trying to get me to swallow my vitamins. I've figured out that if I wait long enough, she'll get worried and put some Kong peanut butter or Kong chicken in my food, but she figured out real quick that I just like licking off the yummy stuff and leaving the kibble, so now she makes me wait until my kibble is soggy and I cant do that :-(. She keeps telling me that she's not going to put any more kong in my food and that I best just start eating it like it is. HAHA ... she loves me too much to let me starve all day ... I think.

There have been alot of changes in my house this week :-(. She bought me a brush yesterday. I liked it the last time she brushed me, but yesterday she took the brush to me after I rolled in my dirt hole a couple of times and was all gray, instead of white. Then she made me take a bath. I didnt like the brushing she gave me, but I certainly liked the bath. I'm no longer allowed to go in and out of the house as I please. Mommy got real upset yesterday when I stole a role of toilet paper out of the bathroom and shredded it all over the back yard. Then she found out that I had done the same thing earlier while she was getting her nails done. Add that to the three pairs of shoes I've destroyed, the bag of candy that I tried to eat and then hide ... a funny story BTW ... and the numerous girly things of Mommy's that I've stolen from under the bathroom sink and I am no longer a free dog. She now makes me ring this silly bell she hung on the door whenever I want to go outside. I liked the sound at first, but now its not so fun to play with. It makes her happy though, because now I cant eat things that arent mine without her catching me stealing it first. Oh well ...
