Arrival Story:
Bebe is actually a Toy Sheltie of about 11 pounds. She came to us the Sunday before Memorial day of last year. We were out for a walk with Maggie and we saw this tiny little dog running around and my boyfriend said that he had seen her about a week before running the neighborhood. She wouldn't come to us, but she came right up to Maggie. She was in such bad shape. Her fur was all dirty and matted, she had sticks and seed pods stuck in her skin. It took 2 days of me forcing her to spend time with be trying to get the burrs and sticks out of her before she even began to trust me. We took her to the vet for shots and a physical and to have rotted teeth removed. She was in very poor condition, but finally after almost 8 weeks, she has settled in to our family nicely. She is still very scared, but she willingly comes up to us to be petted and she wags her tail now. She is very socialized with other dogs, but still doesn't trust people .
Bio:
Bebe has been with us almost a year now. She is potty trained and she will be going in to get spayed next week. She goes everywhere with us now and even lets strangers pet her if I am nearby. She has come such a long way and we are so lucky to have her. I opened a Doggie Day Care about 2 months ago and she has just blossomed! She loves being around the other dogs and has even let people pick her up. She is really doing wonderfully!

Did you see me in my new picture!! I got to go to the dog park and I did good!! I played with my sister Maggie and I sniffed all over the place. I also got to go to our puppy place in town. She gives treats and I even let her pet me sometimes. I feel so much better in my new home. woof!!

I've been in my new home about 2-1/2 months now and I have to tell you, I am spoiled. My coat is finally growing back in nice and shiny and when it is a bit longer, I'm told I will go to the groomers (whatever that means). If it has anything to do with being brushed, I'm down for that! I fall asleep everytime my mommy brushes me and almost fall over it feels so good. My mommy brought home this big box thing she keeps putting me in. There isn't a door on it right now, but I saw one, I guess because I keep pottying all over the house or something she says. Right now I have to be outside with my sister Maggie all day because I'm not house trained and I know I don't like it much. It's hot. We have the garage to cool off in, but I'm happy in the house. I guess I'll have to put up with the box thing. Besides, isn't it going to get cold soon? Brrr... I don't want to be outside then. Anyway, I'm happy and I get to go fun places with mommy and Maggie and get treats all the time. I love my new home. :-)

I went for my very first long walk tonight with mom and dad. I was scared at first because of a loud noise so my daddy carried me for a little. When he put me down, I made sure I was close to mommy and I walked all the way around where we live. My sister Maggie was so excited she was running around all over the field and when she came back, she jumped right over me!! I am so proud that I was able to walk so far without being too scared, maybe mommy will take me more. wag, wag..
