It was late last night and the peeps were getting ready for bed. I started barking furiously at the den window. Mom looked out and couldn't see anything and told me to be quiet. I persisted in my barking.
Mom decides to take me out. She was gonna just open the door and let me run out, but she decided she best put on my leash and come with me. As soon as the door is open, I literally pull mom down the steps. "Slow down Abby!" is what she shouts to me. I pull her around the back of truck and stop short. Mom plows into the back of me and then we both stared wide eyed. Mom's grip tightens on my collar. We watch a huge porcupine curl up into a ball and see its quills go up row after row.
Mom's hand is firmly on my collar as she races to the front door to tell dad we have a visitor.
That's one visitor you shouldn't be welcoming! Good thing we don't have them here, otherwise I'm sure mom would be picking quills out of me.
OMD Abby! You are so lucky your mommy put you on your laed otherwise you might have been very ouchy ouchy and going to the vets!
It's a good thing we don't have them here otherwise they'd be hearing my big German Shepherd growl!
Wufs and hugs, Xena.
WHAT AN INTERESTING NIGHT FOR YOU AND YOUR MOM.
