Someone suggested that I put it in a blog, but it didn't turn out so well.
So, I'm back to doing it in my diary.
Today's topic: Where do YOU lay up your treasures?
Most people familiar with the New Testament are probably also familiar with what Jesus said about where you lay up your treasures:
"But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor dust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."~ Matthew 6:20-21.
What does it mean? It's okay to have possessions down here, but don't value them so much that they are like treasures to you. There is a little saying that I like, "The only thing that you can take with you to Heaven is your family."
How do you lay up treasures in Heaven? By serving Jesus (by spreading the gospel) and not placing your trust in material things. What are the rewards we receive for doing that? Well, only God knows, but whatever it is it will be something that will make us truly happy.
