The shelter found me wandering the streets. Particularly Bark Drive, Kingsland. My humans had been looking for a Sheltie for months, then they heard about a "Sheltie look-alike" (me!) at the pound. They went in to see me. I wasn't adoptable yet. The shelter though that I was a Spitz mix, because of my tail. My humans didn't want me at first, but they called two days later asking about me. The shelter got mixed up on what dogs my humans were talking about, so they said that I hadn't passed my temperament test and was put to sleep. Hardly! Two weeks later, my humans saw a flyer with my picture in it at the bank. It describes me as "Camden [my old name] is a friendly and well socialized Sheltie mix". My humans called the shelter once they were homeand asked about me. Then they went over to the shelter to adopt me. I didn't think they were going to get me. But then, someone took me out of my kennel. I thought maybe they were going to do something to me, but she handed me to the girl who was interested in me. I was so excited I tugged on my leash ("let's get out of here!"). My new humans brought me to their home. Turns out later that they found out that I had been the "Spitz mix", and the shelter had changed it's mind on what breed I was after giving me a closer look.
When I first came here, the only trick that I knew was "come". Now, I know almost two dozen tricks. I get played with and walked almost every day too! I get fed yummy food every day and sometimes my human will buy new toys just fur me! I am naughty sometimes (like when I run out the front door), but instead of turning my back into the shelter, my mistress tries to figure out what's wrong and then she fixes it.
I'm lucky to have such a good home!
