Yippee!!! We are going camping next month! We are going to a park in Quitaque where there are buffalo (a real herd) and a ton of deer and who knows what else!!! And my mom is getting some new hiking boots, and you know what that means!!!! Many walks! We checked this place out in January and it was cooool (really cool, it was 12 degrees one morning - I had to wear my sweater a lot!) Anyway now it is spring and I'm soooo excited! I will write when we get back and tell about my adventures.

Well me and my buds at the Squirrels group are planning a strike! It's all about DOGS RIGHTS - we are going to picket and have secret codes and everything! If you would like to join our cause - to stand up for the rights of all Dogsters, join the SQUIRRELS AND OTHER SMALL ANIMALS WE LOVE TO CHASE group. Right is Might!

Plus they are making our effort into a huge movie SILENCE OF THE SQUIRRELS at your theater soon (as soon as we have our first meeting, I guess.)

Here are my wishes - make some of your own and tag 5 Dogster buds. Let me see your wishes too!!!

Valentine's Day Wishes

For it to be spring - I don't like cold.
For mom to stop brushing my teeth - yuck.
For an endless supply of Mother Hubbard Dog Biscuits
For all my Dogster friends to be spoiled as me.
And like Sophie said, for all pets everywhere to be warm, well-fed and loved.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love, Maddi aka Mad-Dog

We went to the lakehouse for Thanksgiving. Very cool, right on the water with tons of trees for squirrels and deer to hang out in. My mom's human grandson was there and we played ball ALL THE TIME. It's a big house so there was a lot of room to throw the ball and for me to show my expertise. And I chased squirrels and barked at deer (mom and dad won't let me chase the deer - they like them and want me to be quiet - yeah right!) I got a fishhook in my lip and my dad cut it off so it came out but it hurt and my mom was going crazy (she does that...) But it's all better and I consider the trip a success!

Thanksgiving Tag

Because it’s Thanksgiving time, there is a change to the rules. Each player needs to tell seven special things they are thankful for. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their 7 things. Then choose 7 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play.

7 things I'm thankful for:

Mom and Dad think I'm the best dog in the whole world

I get to play ball every day with my Mom and Dad

My human sister loves me too

We get to go on vacations where I have many adventures

My backyard has squirrels, possums, raccoons sometimes, and doves to chase

My Dad takes me for walks in the neighborhood

I always get some banana when my Mom or Dad has some.

We got back from vacation at the ranch in the mountains this week-end. I had a blast! I bet right now all those animals are still shuddering at the thought of MADDI, the EXTREME TOY FOX TERRIER. There were cows, horses, quail and javelinas - I made them all very nervous. I got to take a lot of long walks (there were these grasshopper things everywhere - man, you can't catch those critters). I even got to ride in the back of the pickup with my mom - coooool. We got up every morning before sunrise and took an animal ride to check out the deer - same thing at sunset - I even helped drive (well I put my paws on the wheel...) And before we got to the mountains, we stopped at a park that was made out of sand - dad called them dunes. They let me out and I ran and ran - it was so neat - it felt so good on my paws I didn't want to stop. I recommend the mountains and the sand dune things to all dogs out there - you will like both a lot!

Woo-Hoo!!! I just heard we are going to the Mountains on vacation soon! We have gone there a lot - even in my short life, and it's soooo cool. Here's the deal - a ton of places to walk and to smell new animal smells - no cars which is good, and there are cows and horses - and I have to show them who's boss! (I must admit the cows just kinda look at me with this "who ARE you?" look on their faces and keep eating! But I know they are faking it and really scared inside! And there are deer, foxes, turkeys, hawks, bunnies, mountain goats including THE DREADED JAVELINA. These are smarty pigs that think they can come up to our cabin anytime they want! Ha! I bark and growl (but my folks won't let me chase them) so the pigs KNOW if I got loose, it would be the end of them! But they are pretty brave and my dad and mom usually end up chasing them off! I will write again when we get back - but maybe we will stay in the Mountains!!! Mom and dad always talk about it!!!

Monday and my parents went back to work - I hate that! Friday, Saturday and Sunday we stayed at the lakehouse, right on the lake. My mom and pop went fishing in the morning and late in the afternoon cuz it was soooo hot. I got to bark and chase squirrels and raccoons and I even saw a deer eating in the backyard. I got to lick a perch (it's a little fish) before it went back in the lake. They wouldn't let me see the catfish - I guess it would claw me. And we went for a drive and my parents all the sudden said "Look, a CAMEL!!" I guess in the country people have strange animals cuz it was big and funny-looking. Anyway, I had a good time!

Ok, from the start - I do not dislike chihuahuas - I have never met one - but I have nothing against them. BUT I am not a CHIHUAHUA! Today we all went to PetSmart and as usual, I am looked at by little kids and grown ups and they say "Oh, how cute" which I just take in stride. But then this little boy asks my mom, "Is she a chihuahua?" My mom replies "No she's a Toy Fox Terrier." And then my dad says he's going to start having me wear a sandwich board (hmmm, sounds good) that says I'M NOT A CHIHUAHUA - I'M A TERROR!" Which cracked them both up. Something about TERROR - I love Mom and Dad but they can't spell good...
