Molly went to the bridge today

It is with much sadness and a completely empty feeling that I'm having to tell everyone that Molly passed today. I can't believe that I'm even writing this. She had been having bladder issues for months, since February, has had numerous medications and x-rays and was put on a special diet. She was having trouble urinating. It seemed as though, especially in the last month or so, that she was improving and feeling so much better. She was more energetic and sleeping through the night without getting up to go pee. Last night she took a turn for the worse. She couldn't pee and could barely stand up. I stayed up with her all night to see if she improved and this morning took her to the vet first thing. They did an x-ray and tried to release the pressure on her bladder, but the x-ray showed a large mass on her bladder. Thet vet told me to take her to a vet up north in Tacoma for an ultrasound. I called her dad at work, he came home and took her up for further testing. I stayed home with our children, this was very hard for them to go through. Mike called this afternoon and said that they had to put her down, that was the hardest call he has ever made, Molly was his special girl. The bladder tumor was unoperable and so big and was making her entire body shut down. This is so hard to type, but I'm so grateful that I have this to turn to. There have been so many tears at our house today. Molly brought so much happiness and love to our home for the past 12 years, everyone who ever met her fell in love with her. She will be forever missed, never forgotten, and always loved. Molly was the best dog anyone could ever ask for, I love you my sweet baby girl.

Thank you!

It's been awhile!

Wow, it's been a long time since I've written a diary entry! Things have been good. As you know several months back I had to go on a special diet prescription C/D. I really don't like it very much, but it really does work to help take bladder crystals away. Today, my mom took in another sample of my urine for my vet, Dr. Bob. He called this afternoon, well the crystals are almost all gone, but I have a bunch of bacteria in my urine. My mom thought something was going on again because I've been doing the "happy dance" whenever I have to go outside lately. So, I'm back on antibiotics, Simplicef for 10 days. The vet is also sending in a urine sample to have it cultured to see what is causing the bacteria. I really hope it is nothing bad. I'm feeling great though, lots of energy and I'm very happy! However, my kids, Summer and Ryan have been on a vacation with their grandparents for a month and I really miss them, but they get back the beginning of next week and I'm so excited about it! Everyday I've been waiting by the front door for them to get home and they will finally be home in just a couple of days. I hope all of my wonderful Dogster friends are doing fantastic! Lots of love to you all., XOXO Molly

What a couple days I've had...

First of all, I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of my wonderful Dogster friends who gave me rosettes and gifts for Valentines day, you guys are so great, I love you! But anyway, yesterday I had to go the veteranarian. The last few days I've had some trouble going to the potty. So my Daddy and Sissy took me to the vet. They took a blood sample and I had to have a urinalysis also. So...today the results came back, good and bad news. My blood work was perfect! My urine was not so good, it has crystals in it. The vet thought that I might have bladder stones, which would require surgery. I went in this afternoon for some bladder x-rays. Good news, I don't have bladder stones (yet). I'm going to be put on a precription only diet, which hopefully will help take the crystals away, I got back in 2 weeks for another test. Hopefully I will be better by then, otherwise if bladder stones form, I will have to have a surgery. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers, I really don't want to have surgery!

The Beagle Brothers

So, the Beagle Brothers (Dozer and Digger) are outside right now. They dug some holes and are a complete dirty mess, so Mom won't let them in the house right now. I get to be in the house though relaxing with the family, I was not digging (don't get me wrong, I've dug before), but I wasn't involved in this messy situation. Too bad for the Beagles!

Today is my 11th birthday! I just love my life. I have such a great family, and of course a new little beagle brother, still not sure about him yet! I hope my family gets me a fun birthday present. I love birthdays!

For Goodness Sakes!

So, my mom and dad went and brought home another Beagle, an 8 week old red and white pup named Digger. Are my people crazy, or is it just me? Just when I was getting used to the idea of my little Beagle brother Dozer, they have to bring another one home? Unbelieveable! I really don't mind him that much, I try to ignore him as best as I can and if he gets too close I give him a little growl. I'm really a nice gal though, but these Beagles are getting on my nerves. I still have way more priviledges than the two of them though, so I'm still the TOP DAWG at my house!

Here's the Thing...

So, Summer and Ryan (my human kids, yes I know they are really my brother and sister, I just like to think of them as my kids!) just got back from a 2 week vacation with their grandparents. Boy did I ever miss them, I was really getting sad that they were gone for so long. To try and cheer me up, my Mom and Dad took me for a walk on Sunday afternoon and oh my goodness I was so sore, my back right leg/hip hurt so bad! Getting old is such a bummer. Anyway, so my kids are back and this morning just to be silly I took one of the stuffed animal souveniers (a panda bear) from Ryan's room and ran through the house with it! Oh, I was so sneaky. Of course my humans took it away from me, but the joys of having that toy in my mouth were overwhelming. My Mom even got a glimpse of me when I was a puppy and used to steal Summer and Ryan's toys all of the time. I saw her secretly smile about it. In fact I think she is thinking I need a stuffed animal like Ryan's of my own. I'm so happy my kids are back!
