Arrival Story:
I bought Velma from a "breeder" in order to rescue her--40 dogs under one roof! She was going to be used to breed. She is a true chocolate with all of the liver points. She came up north where I had her fixed. She rules the roost here. Velma has prooved her worth. She saved my parents as well as myself from a fire one of the first years up here. She is a true southern girl who loves to sunbathe--this accounts for the bleaching of her coat--natural highlights!! her idea of swimming is surfing on Mom. She can swim though--she is very good at it. She does not like the idea of Mom getting in that wet stuff, either. This is why she has to have a lifejacket on while Mom swims--she has been known to fall off of the dock. She loves to chase ducks, crows, geese, other larger dogs, squirrels, chipmunks...

Bio:
Since saving our lives, she thinks that she is hot stuff! After the fire she started patrolling my parents' place when we go. Oh, did I mentions that she is the queen? I get to live with HER! Oh, and she is famous around here--she is a therapy dog who has been to all 3 elementary schools, the local hospitaal and local nursing homes.
